5.0 out of 5 stars Curry, Corduroy and The Call Nov 9 2011
By M. J. Vance - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Having worked with Gwen on editing some of the chapters of this book, I was so pleased to see the finished product. The story of Gwen and her family tugs as your heart yet has many light-hearted touches. It provides insights to life in remote areas of India and the hardships endured to spread The Call to those who would listen. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the entire manuscript and could not wait to share it with my sixteen-year-old granddaughter, who is an avid reader. I am sure she will enjoy it as much as I did. Congratulations to Gwen for sharing this bit of her life with us so that we may have a better understanding of the world around us and its peoples.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very interesting and funny! Dec 1 2011
By Tracy Greenlee - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Sharing her life as a child of Mennonite missionary parents, Gwen easily tells the antics of the other children she grew up with as well as the the heartaches of missing home and family growing up far away in India. I found myself laughing out loud as well as getting a little teary eyed as her memories came to life. I look forward to more stories from her!
5.0 out of 5 stars insight into 2 cultures Nov 12 2011

This book gives fascinating insights into two areas, India and the inpact on children of a Mennonite fathers life in the ministry. It details the impact of going to a remote boarding school at age 5 or 6 for 10 months a year in a foreign land and the interplay of this on family and personal life. This makes a very enjoyable read.
