Product Description

Albert Shipway is an ordinary guy who's made an extraordinary mistake...a mistake that has left a family in ruins. Unfortunately for Albert, he picked the wrong family.

Now he thinks the past is forgotten and today is just another day, another lunch, another order of kung pao chicken. Little does he know that he’s about to meet a little old lady who knows his greatest fear. A little old lady who knows what’s hiding in his heart. A little old lady who dishes up a big stew of supernatural revenge.

In just a matter of minutes, Albert’s simple life is about to be turned upside down. Indeed, Albert is about to enter a world where magic and evil lurk just beneath the fabric of southern California, where all his past choices have brewed a perfect storm of broken hearts, broken promises, and shattered families...and he's about to pay the ultimate price.

Unless he can start righting some wrongs...and fast.

5.0 out of 5 stars A very compelling story! Dec 6 2010
By Sunluvr - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Two talented current day suspense/horror authors combined their efforts to present this "can't put it down" story.
This poor overworked guy is minding his own business, trying to get something to eat on his short lunch break, when he is accosted by a very strange, creepy little old lady. Then he finds out his former girlfriend has been murdered and he is on the suspect list. And things go downhill from there. Somewhere along the way he teams up with the dead girl's sister to try and track down the real murderer, and escape the curse placed on him by the aforementioned "little old lady". Don't miss this suspenseful and quirky tale.

5.0 out of 5 stars EVERYTHING YOU WOULD EXPECT . . . Nov. 24 2010
By The Migrator - Published on Amazon.com

Everything you would expect from Stephen King or Dean Koontz, except the outrageous price! Good for your diet, too. You won't have any appetite while reading this thriller!

5.0 out of 5 stars two great tastes that taste great together Dec 27 2010

I've read a lot of Scott Nicholson books, since way back when he was in paperback, and I enjoy his Appalachian paranormal thrillers. Here he joins with JR Rain to come up with something a little more humorous and fun, while still keeping that supernatural underpinning. A great ride--I look forward to more from Albert and Tabby!

2.0 out of 5 stars I felt CURSED reading this one..... Feb. 2 2011
By Blaketuss - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I am a huge fun of suspense, mystery, horror and this turned out to be none of the above. The story is predictable and very lacking of suspense except for maybe one section towards the end. It is very short and doesn't have any side stories or developments other than the exact plot of the book. The writing just isn't on par with other better known authors. The same points and character traits are visited over and over and over again wasting page space. It is very short and worst of all there are NO plot twists at all. You basically have the story given to you at the beginning and it turns out just how you think it will. The story has typos and is very deceptive if you read on the kindle. The progress bar will tell you about 75% at the bottom when the story ends. The remainder of your purchase is previews from 3 or 4 other books by this author. It is an inexpensive read but really not worth it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Okay but could use a proof-reader May 10 2012
By C. Chandler - Published on Amazon.com

"Cursed" is an okay book. I downloaded it during a period when you could download it for free, because, hey...why not download a free book? I thoroughly enjoy J.R. Rain's Vampire for Hire Series, though I have never read any Scott Nicholson books. The book has a good premise and does have the ability to hold your attention. However, the typos and misnaming of characters is really aggravating. The person who was killed is Albert's girlfriend Amanda, he seeks the help of Amanda's sister Tabitha. I cannot tell you how many times they call Tabitha Amanda's name in the book, along with misspellings and other trip ups. I understand this may be a 'low-budget' book, but can't the authors proof-read it for accuracy and do they have spell check??
Anyway...if you can get it for free, by all means do so, nice book to pass the time. I wouldn't pay for it though.
