I bought this radio taking a chance since it only had one previous disappointing review that gave few details about the clock. I figured it was low cost and I wanted a cd clock radio.
My previous one gave out after 10 years it was a Sony and it did everything I wanted, it could wake to any particular cd track, dual alarm, battery back up that still worked the alarm if there was a power failure, an easy to adjust radio dial, good sound and it only cost about $40. No one seems to be able to manufacture such an item today.
Anyway, back to the item at hand, it was a little tricky programming it but you get used to it's particular way of programming. Sound quality was pretty good for a small clock radio. Battery back up only keeps the time and any alarm programming in the event of a power failure, nothing will operate until power is restored including the alarm. Yes, It does have dual alarm capability. The Adjustment for the radio station is very sensitive and needs a light touch on the dial to get the correct station which shows up in a big display on the front replacing the clock display which is annoying, you don't have the option to only see the clock displayed, pressing the display button to see the time while the radio is playing only displays the time for a few seconds and then the display goes back to the radio station. The alarm set to cd will only go to track one, you cannot set it to any other track in alarm mode. It has two brightness levels for the display which seemed adequate to me. The cd can skip ahead to another track during regular play. There is a sleep mode to play radio or cd until it shuts off at one of the time settings which are; 90min., 60min., 30min. & 15min. There is also a big snooze button at the front, it's preset to 15min. only, you can press it as many times as you want. When the alarm turns on, pressing any button but the snooze button will shut it off. The first clock picture is not the radio I received, the first clock pictured is a different radio and only has a single alarm. I uploaded a picture of the model I received, which is the second picture and DOES have dual alarm capability, I have no idea why another reviewer received the incorrect one. I hope my review helps others make their decision.
This cd clock radio for the money isn't bad, but I'm hoping to use it only until I find one that does everything my old Sony did.
UPDATE: The cd alarm on this clock didn't last 6 months! It turns on at the alarm time but won't play the cd, useless. I changed the rating from 4 stars to 1, should be 0 stars! DON'T BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK!
