Expect to pay $30 for any support from Cyberlink Sept. 4 2013

Amazon did a great job with their software download service and gets 5 stars. Cyberlink on the other hand deserves a big zero! I've been having some trouble with BD-R data discs recorded in sessions and bought the power2go latest version just because it's more up to date than the trial version I've been using. Sadly the upgrade didn't solve my problem and I thought I would contact Cyberlink to ask what they thought. In their incredible arrogance they charge $30 for any phone support. They don't do email either but I was able to send them a message on their website; the only way to contact them; 2 business days for an answer by the way; and they sent me a form letter with the usual "make sure your disc is clean" kind of stuff. When I pressed them further to answer my question they demanded proof of purchase which is funny because you can't even send Cyberlink a message unless you register all over again and give your product code. Every response takes at least 2 business days. When the guy at "Cyberlink" found out I purchased from Amazon they more or less told me to go away or presumably pay them $30 for "support" (which would probably be more form letters from India. Bottom line; if you buy anything from Cyberlink you're on your own. I have no idea yet if the problem I'm having is software related or not. Other than the BD-R problem the software seems good which is why I bought the upgrade but I won't ever buy a Cyberlink product again because of their arrogant attitude. They think they're Microsoft or something.

12-4-2013 Edit: I found I can change the number of stars. As I stated in replies that follow the software was working correctly all along. I don't have any real complaints about Power2Go software, only the lack of support for a simple question. I haven't had any problems since installing my new Pioneer BD-R drive.

Be very careful May 30 2014
By sedonaman - Published on
Power2Go 8 came with my new computer which runs Windows 8.1. The first thing I tried to do with it was create a music mp3 disc, which it would not do no matter what. After exhausting all possibilities, I found out that it was a limited version without the music capability. Nowhere on the disc or during the installation was that stated. It could have saved me a lot of time trying to find out what was wrong. Therefore, I advise others to be very careful about products put out by these folks.

Not too much to say. It's workin' fine. I
'originally' purchased it from the manufacturer
but my computer crashed 'cause of a virus & the
program along with everything else was removed for
precaution. The manufacturer did not replace it free so
I severed ties with them & re-purchased it thru you at a 'much
better' price. Should I encounter the same problem in the future
(crash or virus) I can simply go to the amazon site & retrieve it from
my purchases & re-innstall it. THANKS EVER SO MUCH for being there!

Unreliable Using Disc Span - Data Loss - POS Software - AVOID Dec 25 2014
By tvideo - Published on
Been using Power2Go for years and always was lazy and used the split to disc option. Now I am finding out it had a quirky bug tat would drop 1 file from the last added directory. Losing data is should not be an issue based on the file not being burned - there is enough of other issues to worry about.

No company should even release a software that will "skip" over users files for backup, what a POS. Will never buy or use Cyberlink software again costing me countless loss of data due to buggy POS software.

A good upgrade to the earlier versions of this program. Good to use with making DVD's and collecting recorded music.
