HASH(0x9f803c24) out of 5 stars Incorrect track listing March 3 2011
By Alexis Pappas - Published on
Format: Audio CD Verified Purchase
I was disappointed when I got this CD. Not from the piano playing but rather from the incorrect listing of the Bach-Liszt Fantasy & Fugue in G minor. He really plays the Fantasy and Fugue on the theme B-A-C-H and NOT the BWV 542. The playing is transcendent of course but I was very disappointed when there was no Bach-Liszt Fantasy & Fugue in G minor.

HASH(0x9fa6fc54) out of 5 stars Dated recording but excellent playing Aug. 22 2011

Many years ago, I had Cziffra on LPs. He seemed always to be on the wrong side of politics; the Nazis didn't like him and the Communists didn't either. His career was troubled by politics, not musical ability. This playing is like all he did, excellent. If you like the music and don't mind a dated sound, this is a good recording.

HASH(0x9fa6fd74) out of 5 stars Brilliant Variety of Performances March 1 2011

Format: Audio CD
Cziffra does a masterful job at capturing the beauty behind these classic pieces. This a great variety of works and is performed with great precision.
