You can say this about D.E.B.S.: director Angela Robinson’s 2005 feature isn’t very good, but it is surprisingly entertaining. The premise, which bears a passing resemblance to any number of previous films (from Heathers and Clueless to Charlie’s Angels and the Austin Powers franchise), involves a secret government agency recruiting young women as spies, based on their smarts, their ability to lie convincingly, and the fact that they look fetching in ultra-miniskirts. Four of the D.E.B.S. are then charged with collaring "criminal mastermind" Lucy Diamond (Jordana Brewster), who has returned to the States after hatching all manner of nefarious plots overseas. Then comes the twist: Diamond is gay, and one of our heroines, Amy Bradshaw (Sara Foster), unexpectedly finds herself falling in love with her. Out goes the espionage element; in comes the love story, and therein lies the surprise, as this burgeoning lesbian relationship is handled with unexpected sympathy, even tenderness. Sure, the acting, even by veteran grownups like Holland Taylor and Michael Clarke Duncan, is almost uniformly lame, and the script is silly; overall, the film would have to put on considerable weight to even be considered frothy. Still, D.E.B.S. isn’t a bad way to kill a couple of hours. DVD bonus features include a making-of featurette and commentary by Robinson and the cast. --Sam Graham

I think the movie D.E.B.S is a wonderful movie. Although the movie has not been release in theaters nation and worldwide because I though this movie should make a big profit. I hope there will be a sequel to this movie.

I personally loved this movie, I think it did exactly what it was meant to do, entertain. People who try to dig deeper for something controversial (ie lesbianism) need to relax. I thought it was very cute, if you're looking for a light movie that'll entertain you this is it! Plus, it's full of beautiful people so how could it go wrong?
The only reason I gave it 4 stars & not 5 is because of the lame production, if you're looking for Charlie Angels-esque streamlined (it doesn't look overly edited & hollywood-ish) then you'll be disappointed.

i read many reviews of this movie that weren't very flattering, so i decided to rent it first, just in case. well, i knew to expect a spoof and not to expect too much sexual content with the PG rating and all, but it was well worth the time and i will be purchasing it. it was laugh out loud fun, and my girlfriend and i watched it twice the first night. the actresses have good comedic timing, they are easy to look at (jordana brewster could be demi moore's sister) and unlike most lesbian movies, this one has a happy ending. there are plenty of dyke drama movies out there, some of which i quite enjoy, but it's nice to see a movie that doesn't take itself too seriously. and the dvd has a deleted scene that lets the viewer see a bit more of the chemistry between jordana brewster and sara foster.so if you enjoyed charlie's angels and But i'm a cheerleader, you will probably like this as well.
