I have a bad snr down ratio at the best of times 5.8 to 6.0 via my teksavvy dsl over Bell lines. I've been using a TPlink modem and although OK, the Dlink has been a long time up without connection loss so we're convinced this modem has an edge. It's a winner!

I had the same problem after about a year of having the modem. Power light was off and LAN and DSL lights were blinking every second. I thought for sure it had died. I was only using it in bridged mode so it seemed weird that it would randomly die. Fortunately, I had a spare power cable lying around and I swapped it in. The modem powered up normally with the new cord.

If anyone else has this problem, try taking it to tiger direct or something and ask them to plug in their own power cable to see if its working.

The modem worked great for one week, and then my Internet connection just packed up! All the lights on the modem stayed on suggesting it was the ISP. Contacted D-Link who assured me it was the ISP too. However when I tried out a different modem (for fear of the ISP charging me $100 for a call out) my Internet was back! I recommend avoiding this modem.

Works very well. Indicator for internet connection will occasionally go red indicating that there is an issue but there never seems to be a problem. The connection remains rock solid. Turning the unit on and off resets the light but the unit works fine either way. I would rate it five stars if not for this little light glitch but it works great regardless so I gave it four stars.
I went looking for this unit in stores but no one carried it in the store so I decided to order it through Amazon which worked out great! It actually arrived a couple of days earlier than expected. My advice to retail stores... Carry product and have knowledgeable staff on site. If I'm going to have to order it on line I have Amazon for that. On line shopping through Amazon works great and I recommend it for many purchases but there is still room for retail stores if they have something to offer... Like product in store and live sales experts on site.

The modem is exactly the same model as one I've used now for several years. The old one is still working, but I've put it away to use as a backup. This model does tend to overheat sometimes, but I find running a little USB fan prevents that (See ARCTIC Breeze USB Desktop Fan ABACO-BRZRT01-BL on Amazon). I don't know about other modems (and this could be the fault of Bell ADSL service) but I'm accustomed to having to reset this model every week or two. To me it's no big deal. Just hit the reset button and let it reboot. Sometimes it takes two tries, but it always gets back up and running. And it was CHEAP!

It seems a big improvement over my old modem in that it is faster and more stable. The tech support however leaves a lot to be desired. I did need some help in setting it up but the person who was trying to help me over the phone did not seem knowledgeable enough to be of help and his accent made his use of the English language practically unintelligible. I finally had to go to my own onshore ISP for help in setting it up.
