I purchased these to replace four aging DHP-300 and DHP-302 Powerline products

The DHP-501AV seems to be a considerably better product than the previous generation. Setup was dead easy (just plug them into two adjacent outlets and synchronize them in secure by holding down the button for a couple seconds on each unit) and they deal with the wiring in my house far better. I'm consistently clocking 10mbps internet downloads from my entertainment consoles, and seeing none of the periods when the light flashed red when the AC unit came on.

My only complaint is that if you place them in the bottom outlet, they block the top outlet from being used. If you place them upside down in the top outlet, you still have the second outlet free, but it looks dorky and doesn't feel all that stable.

I've "wired" my house using two sets of DHP-501AV and they work wonders, freeing up the WiFi bandwidth for the mobile devices. The only downside is that there is a significant speed drop on particular unit locations when the kitchen fan or bathroom fans are turned on... but not enough to make me switch back to WiFi.

Amazing product, i got about 2-3 mbps going wireless to my computer, now with the D-Link - PowerLine i'm getting 35-45 mbps (I pay for 45)

For the price, its one of the best items I have bought in awhile!

Plug it in it works,,,,as good as an Ethernet cable. Had a problem connecting an upstairs VOIP phone to my downstairs router, and this solved it, added a switch and now everything upstairs runs faster than WIFI.

I was really excited to use powerline ethernet to connect my bedroom to my home network, but unfortunately it didn't work in my house. (I sometimes had connectivity, but a *lot* of packet loss and very slow speeds when it did connect.)

It turns out that the arc fault interrupter circuit breakers (AFI breakers) now required in bedrooms can filter out the powerline ethernet signal, and one of the brands of that filters out powerline ethernet is the brand I have, Siemens. Since you can't mix and match breaker brands, I had to return the powerline adapters and ran some ethernet instead.

Really wanted this to work; it's too bad they didn't in my case!

Works well when you stay on line.
When your off line for a half hour or longer you always have to reset it or unplug and replug.
Reset doesn't work most of the time.
Mostly unplugging and plugging it back in.
It's only maybe 30ft away from my main router.
Not impressed, glad it was under 100.00
