More Robinton? No, thanks., Nov 3 2001

Buy it if you're a Pern collector, but otherwise give it a miss. Very standard Choose-Your-Own-Adventure fare, and Robinton's not presented as a very interesting hero.

Sweet, but not as good as McCaffrey, Mar 24 2000

Anne McCaffreys Pern is a complex detailed world all her own. For anyone to attempt to compare with hers would be a feat in itself. This book was good, the plot was interesting, if a bit on the plain side, however it just does not compare to the eloquence of McCaffreys writing.

The Masterharper, May 28 2009

The unasuming Harper is and will always be my favorite character in the McCaffrey books...
The book shows the sadder parts of his life and how it changed him into being The Harper instead of just a harper. If you love the story of the dragon riders, you will love this book.
