Morceau acid-jazz avec rappeur, pop façon Morcheeba, soul, interludes zouk... De Phazz joue la carte de la diversification en ouvrant son horizon à de nouveaux genres, sans perdre de vue pour autant son style de prédilection, le jazz "grand public", longtemps qualifiée d'"easy listening" et désormais inclus dans l'appellation générique "Lounge". Daily Lama est également un disque polyglotte. En effet, avec des paroles tantôt en allemand tantôt en tahitien, en français ou en anglais, l'interprétation est, elle aussi, éclectique, affirmant délibérément une orientation internationale... Avec sa dominante de trip-hop jazzy aux influences tango ou bossa façon Pink Martini, l'ensemble reste cosy et rappelle bien souvent les compositions des Boys from Brazil (l'autre visage de Gotan Project).
Mais si l'on trouve effectivement de nombreuses ressemblances avec d'autres formations de la même famille, entre chansons kitsch et ballades funky, la fraîcheur est tout de même au rendez-vous de ce 3e opus qui n'apporte pourtant rien de particulièrement nouveau. Ce qui séduit, en fait, c'est la variété des titres et l'importance accordée aux partitions "jouées" plus que programmées. Ainsi, c'est un véritable album écrit que signe De Phazz, composé d'une grande majorité de chansons à textes, légères et groovy. --Luc Demont

One of these things is JUST like the other!If you like the retro-vocal melancholy, jazzy, cafeteria-style, insular-yet-panoramic, lush, smoky-lounge, orchestral, strange, ecstatic, DJ-scratchy, sublime, sampled and genre-bending compostions of Art of Noise, The Matthew Herbert Big Band, Enzso, Funki Porcini, Yello, Caleb's Cosmosis, Hugh Marsh, Future Sound of London, United Future Organization or Bowery Electric, then you will love this. It gets 4/5 because their previous CD, "Death By Chocolate" is slightly better. Start there! 'NUFF SAID.

Just discovered De Phazz and have purchased all their CD's. Music is an interesting mix of instrumental, amazing voices, somewhat jazz, electric, motown..Absolutely amazing.

Simply a great cd!every song is intresting,a great mix of jazz,dub,and electronics.The production is superb.I just loved the others De Phazz cd but this is really better-quality.
