Product Description

Twelve years ago, newspaperman John Bryce saved an innocent man from the hangman's noose. That man was Matt Jensen. 2.0 out of 5 stars No Comparison to the original Johnstone, Mar 15 2012

Unfortunately if you are a William W. Johnstone follower you will soon begin to notice that his newer books are starting to all sound the same and are now getting "mushy".
I was worried when I discovered that Mr. Johnstone has passed away and a 'ghost writer' was finishing the outlines for stories he had left behind.
The newer books in all his series are now being written by a J.A. Johnstone and her writing abilities pale in comparison to the original. The best part of old Johnstone books was the gritty writing and his ability to pull you into the pages of his novels and make you want to turn the page to the next adventure. Preacher and Matt Jensen were excellent characters but the new story lines do not do these characters justice. There is no room for fluffy romance in a good western and the original Johnstone did not have to resort to that stuff for fill-in.
That all being said the new books are not unreadable but just not up to par with the original W.W. Johnstone.

This book I received months ago, and it has been read and added to my wall of William W. Johnstone books.
