Review

"The Lovely Bones meets The Shawshank Redemption via Judy Blume. Expect to be appalled" Vogue "True to Palahniuk form, Damned is gross in parts, scandalous in others and funny throughout" Time Out "Gleefully riffing on Judy Blume's 1970 coming-of-age classic Are You There God? It's Me Margaret, Palahniuk's dead heroine must traverse the infernal landscape in search of Satan - and of her true self - as she tries to discover exactly how she died" Financial Times "Vintage chuck - as dark as it gets" Dazed "The vistas of his underworld are engrossing" Metro --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

1.0 out of 5 stars Total disaster Dec 22 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is one of the worst books I have ever read and sincerely wish there was a zero star rating. Every chapter follows the same recipe. It is like a template. I'm skipping the sequel Doomed.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not a book for the faint of heart March 15 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Just awful, I couldn't even finish it, every time I read it I felt ill. The descriptions were stomach turning & the character was not believable as a 13 year old.

2.0 out of 5 stars Damned boring Feb. 17 2012
Format:Hardcover
I cannot stress how I am a devoted Plahniuk fan. Fight Club, Rant, Choke, Survivor, Haunted are all books that are in my library and in very rough shape form overreading. This is not in that league. To call it disapointing would not do it justice.
