It is hard to watch the way Abby berates the little dancers, very often not for what they have done but for what their mothers have done. In our country, we don't hold people responsible for the deeds of their parents. Frankly, if Abby were a regular teacher at where I live, she would have had her teaching credentials revoked and drummed out the schools long ago. She is mean-spirited, egotistic, and manipulative. She can be a good teacher if only she uses positive reinforcement instead of being negative most of the time. Many of the things she said were not fit for the ears of those little girls. The dance moms are not much better. They fight with Abby and bite and crawl at other moms' backs. I wonder how much of their behavior is provocative display for the cameras. Do they actually behave like that in their daily lives? The same question goes for Abby. The only nice people to watch are the little dancers: they are so talented; they are all stars. Many dance numbers in the show are very well performed and choreographed. Abby may be an unbearable dance teacher, but she is a decent choreographer. Five stars for the little dancers, one for Abby and the moms.
