This review is from: Dancing with Mr Darcy: Stories Inspired by Jane Austen (Paperback)
This collection is part of Chawton House's programs to encourage writing, and to focus on women writers. The book is composed of the winning entries in a short story contest. The selections are quite diverse, and include mostly contemporary settings for stories that are loosely based on some aspect of Jane Austen's writings. It's a good collection for aspiring writers to study, and might be of interest to students of Austen and who want to explore characters, motivation, etc. Some 'intellectual' book clubs might find the collection adds to their discussions of Austen's own work. But if you are simply a reader who wants more, more, more of Mr. Darcy & Lizzie, you'll be disappointed.
