Product Description

Ten-year-old Min has had a long history of foster care since being abandoned in a public washroom at age three. When Min is dumped by her latest foster mother just before Christmas, Jess Hart, a former ChildrenÂ’s Aid doctor who knows Min and sees past her hardened shell, decides to take her home for a couple of weeks to see how the two of them get along. Jess has long had thoughts of becoming MinÂ’s official foster mother, or even adopting her. On their way to find a Christmas tree, Min finds a young dog thatÂ’s near death and brings it home. As the dogÂ’s timidness and distrust of people begins to lessen, Min realizes how much she has herself been "walling" people out. Min starts to open up, makes some new friends and even stands up to her old nemesis, the bullying and taunting Laird. This is a story of an abandoned dog helping an abandoned girl open her heart and let in a new family. Jean LittleÂ’s incredible gift for portraying emotion and creating real people on the page shines in this touching novel.

5.0 out of 5 stars a great book, Feb 5 2008
By miniloserj96 "minij" (Sherbrooke, Qc) - See all my reviews
The book is really about an orphan who gets stolen and becomes a foster child. The adult who took Min (the orphan) is a doctor named Dr. Jessica Hart. They go on many differnt adventures and find out many different things about each other.

Min is the main character in the story and I find personally that she has an anger management problem at the beginning of the book. But during the book she learns how to control her anger.

The author of the book is Jean Little. She is blind, but she is very good writer. She has also written: Orphan at My Door, Brothers Far from home and If I Die Before I Wake. These are probably other very good books.

The genre of this book is a realistic fiction type of book, because everything that happens in this book could actually happen in real life. A foster child got stolen and stayed with somebody and they find a dog and the adopt it.

I think this book was one of the greatest books I've ever read in my life. I would recommend it to anybody from the ages nine to twenty. I would rate it 5 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars The excellent book Dancing Through The Snow, Feb 5 2008
Dancing Through the Snow
Jean Little

Good, excellent, perfect no words do describe how good the incomparable book Dancing Through the Snow is. This realistic fiction book if full of action, adventures, very detailed sentences, great vocabulary and a whole bunch of surprises. If I could rate it, I would give a 5 out of 5, no 10 out of 10 no maybe even a 20 out of 20.

This surprising book is about a little orphan named Min, who gets placed in a whole bunch of foster homes and then finally a doctor decides to take her and takes good care of her; in fact she sends her (Min) to a new school so that Min can make new friends and so that she can be away from Laird a guy who bullied her and then surprise something happens. Her new foster mother doctor Jessica Hart has a nephew named Toby. Min and Toby get along pretty well and when Min finds something in the snow, Toby and Min well they nah I wont tell you I dont want to spoil the surprise. Find out for your own and read the excellent book Dancing Through the Snow that I definitely recommend to people from ages 9 and up.

5.0 out of 5 stars a wonderful story for Christmas, Feb 5 2008
By Book worm "Cicy" (Sherbrooke, QC Canada) - See all my reviews
The title of this book is Dancing Through the Snow and the author is Jean Little. In the story there is a girl named Min Randall who was orphaned by the person who was taking care of her when she was three years old. The woman who did this left her in a bathroom at the Ex. Enid Bangs, her present foster mother, is dropping her back at the Childrens Aid a week before Christmas and Min is not surprised about this. Even though, she still wishes for a miracle to happen. While Mrs. Bangs is talking to Mrs. Willis Jess Hart comes in the waiting room and sits down beside Min. They both listen to the women shouting at each other about Min. All of a sudden Dr. Hart jumps up and tells Mrs. Willis she is taking Min with her. So, Min has finally had her miracle! If you want to find out about all of the other events you will have to read the book. I recommend this book to people of all ages because it teaches us that what we take for granted isnt there for everyone. My opinion of the book is that it is very good because the author really makes you go in Mins skin and feel like you are with her for all of her adventure. My rating of this is seven stars out of five. If I had three thumbs they would all be up. Some other books by Jean Little are Orphan at My Door, Brothers Far from Home, and If I Die Before I Wake.
