Product Description

Laurie Antoniou

Artemis OakGrove does it again, for a new generation of readers. Her shadowy worlds of smoky dyke bars and sultry femme bedrooms is at once fantastical and compellingly perverse; where muscular, swaggering studs battle and quarrel over and with their often calculating and always beautiful ladies, and violence is just one word away from every encounter. (And that word ain't no safeword!)

This is what erotica should be, always pushing the reader to places she hasn't been to before-maybe places she would never want to go alone. From the mystical fantasy of a religiously toned slave market to the suddenly overcrowded bathroom of the local bar, these are stories of sex and anger, comedy and lust, bitter pasts and urgently passionate nows.

Book Description

This long-awaited collection includes the author's newest and most provocative work to date.

2.0 out of 5 stars I wasn't impressed., July 30 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Dangerous Thoughts (Paperback)
Artemis OakGrove and I have different opinions as to what is erotic and what isn't. Her lesbians are all mostly butchy, and she doesn't seem to care much for pretty feminine women, even as victims. To me her stories are a little too much realism, and not enough fantasy.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Dark Side of the Leatherdyke World, Nov 21 2000
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Dangerous Thoughts (Paperback)
While Artemis Oakgrove's stories are very well written, the majority of her characters seem to enjoy the infliction of pain for its own sake, rather than to an end (i.e., sexual pleasure for both). She takes us to the extremes of bdsm, and makes those of us involved in bdsm examine the darkest corners of our desires. To a leather/bdsm novice, I would say: "It's not all like that." To the more seasoned, male or female, I would say: "Take a hard look at yourself through this book." Did I enjoy the book: not really. Was it worth my time: absolutely! Would I recommend it to others: yes!--review by Penny Duff (My friends don't call me Carol!)
