When I was strumming through CD's at a local CD store, my borther pointed this CD out to me called The Dawn Of Battle. He knew that I loved Manowar and that I owned all of their CD's, but he didn't recognize the cover. Neither did I! How did I miss the release of this! I first thought that it was a single to their new album coming out, but when I looked at the year on the CD, it said 2002, so it couldn't be that. I was confused? I bought it because it had two songs I had never heard. I was really pleased with this CD. The two new songs The Dawn Of Battle and I Believe are great! The Dawn Of Battle is much like the song Warriors of the World United, only but faster. I can't believe I didn't know about this CD. This is not a single to a new album coming out. It is just a really short E.P. I wonder why Manowar released this. Manybe just wanted to help feed the hunger of Manowar fans until they finally get around to getting a new album recorded. This little E.P. will tide me over, but I can't wait. If the songs sound like this, it will be great!

Manowar's Dawn of Battle EP, is a nice addition to my Manowar collection. It's only 2 new songs together with one of the best tracks from last years Warriors of the World. THe title tune, it probably their best track since anything off of Triumph of Steel album 10 years ago. It is fast, vicious, and has all things that we all love about Manowar!!!! It is truly destined to be a concert staple. I Believe, a bit slower, but really another molten slab of Manowar. Really, this EP, is a godsend. Because, I was very disappointed with WOTW, it let me down. But this 3 track EP, has regained my confidence in Manowar, and hopefully they can continue making "magic" metal like this again.
As for the bonus video features, if you already have the Hell on Earth Vol 2 and Blood in Brazil DVD, there is really nothing more to this CD. If you dont have that, then this CD gives you a few snippets of what you are missing. Pick that DVD up, the full concert (Blood in Brazil) is a Manowar lovers dream come true!!!! Hail - and - Kill!!!! Death to False Metal!!!

Good stuff, but why weren't these songs on the full-length CD "Warriors of the World," instead of some of the crap they stuck on there??! At this late stage in their career, Manowar is all about MARKETING, and sticking 3 songs on a separate EP allows them to milk a few more bucks out of their fans (along with the gobs of logo merchandise at their website).

hail the four kings Dec 27 2004

This single contains three songs. Call to Arms is a very good Manowar song, but this is exactly the same version as was on the last album. I Believe is a good Manowar song but not good enough to justify recording as a single. But Dawn of Battle is a great Manowar song, and there is nothing better than a great Manowar song. Nothing. Not just nothing in the world of popular music, but nothing, period. Neither love nor sex, neither heaven nor hell, neither science nor religion, and not even ice cream is better than Manowar at their best. Nothing in either the material or spiritual universes is better than a great Manowar song. And Dawn of Battle is a great Manowar song. Therefore, you must value this single as you would value your life. If you do not possess it you are impoverished and I sincerely pity you.

Good idea for a single Jan. 20 2003

Manowar quickly followed their 2002 opus Warriors of the World with this single, which features two brand new tracks. The Dawn of Battle is a fast stormer in the style of "Fight until we die" and "I Believe" is a very heavy doomy ballad. Is it worth the dough to buy this (sorta) ep as well? One can download it all! ...but also this cd is full of extras, including teasers for their upcoming dvds. That said, the two new songs are not as fresh sounding as the ones on the full length, and one might be dissapointed in the cliched lyrical choices in the new tracks. Buy only if you're a hardcore fan.
Worth the price July 7 2005

Call To Arms is a great song and anyobdy who has WOTW will know this. On to the two new songs. Dawn Of Battle is a fast burner similar to Fight Until We Die and House Of Death and has a nice middle break section, its worth the price alone. THen theres I Believe, this song is kick ass. Its a ballad type song but not in a stupid way and to tell you the truth the fight, die, truth, power type lyrics have never sounded better than ion these two songs. They fit perfectly and both songs are very well written. Both songs are excellent plus you get a great opener from their last album, pick it up, the new songs are great and will have to hitting repeat many times.
