Product Description

Album Description

Exclusive Asian-only enhanced two CD pressing features a bonus disc with three additional tracks: 'Hell Alright' (Bassface Sascha & Frnksen Remix), 'How High That Hat' (Monophonic's Rave That Jazz Mix) and 'Hell Alright' (Enhanced Video). It's time to twang like the big bang - only a little more explosively. The timelessly desirable 44 minutes of Days of Twang delight immediately, endlessly, day by day and all through the night. With the first album for their new label (and their sixth overall), Dephazz announce a retrospective recommencement, as well as the departure into ever more wonderful times and spaces - hot on the heels of international successes in dreamy heights and numbers, as well as a host of sensations in Hollywood-movies or Japanese commercials. Hi Note. 2007.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Gem / Another Masterpiece, April 30 2007
By Dj4cast "Dj4cast" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Days Of Twang (Audio CD)
When oh when will America wake up to this band? Perhaps, years from now after they have peaked (each release makes you believe they have and then POW! another masterpiece) and America experiences another "I've always been into Floyd, it's just suddenly become popular to like them". They are of course a DJ's band / collective and their style is a plural. From Drum and bass to exquisite Funk, from turntables sampling to trombone solos. This newest release certainly has Twang, a tangible increase in the use of guitars, just when you thought only Air could use them in Electronica. This is the future of Popular Music, large bands roaming the land, people dancing again to Jazz for this is Jazz in a way too. There are real songs here, not electronic jams where every agrees that where the key changes is called the break. The Future is good for modern music, there will be venues eventually where one will be able to go dance with your love. I see it, it's there just over the horizon. Buy this immediately.- DJ4cast (Roger Hannagan)

5.0 out of 5 stars More Than Just Twang, May 3 2007
By a music junkie - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Days of Twang (Audio CD)
From the outset of this pleasurable romp you are greeted with plenty of twang, but as you kick back and relax into it you find out some quiet hidden gems that aren't as obvious as "Hell Alright". There's some really sweet downtempo here that begs you to resist its charms. "Dancing With My Hands", "It Will Turn Out Right" and "Nonsensical Thing" are all polished low-key tunes that beautifully complement the jazzier and more upbeat numbers. Definitely something for the stylish lounger and urban sophisticate with nothing better to do on a Sunday than sip mimosas and groove the day away.

5.0 out of 5 stars SmoothLounge.com Review, May 7 2007
By Sandy Shore - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Days of Twang (Audio CD)
This exciting European nu jazz ensemble has joined forces with one of the coolest labels in the U.S. to release a sizzling hot project in time for summer: DAYS OF TWANG. The well-received DEPHAZZ has had six previous releases and maintains a hefty touring schedule all over Europe. It's safe to assume that the tour will encompass the states in the near future as the praises of DAYS OF TWANG spread like a prairie fire. Over the years DEPHAZZ has appeared on over 100 compilations in all corners of the globe and has remixed the likes of Kool & The Gang, Lauryn Hill, Boy George, Ennio Morricone, A-Ha, Ella Fitzgerald and Kurtis Blow. They say there's nothing new under the sun... Maybe that's true, but mashing up vibey, down-tempo, jazzy dance/pop together with Americana twang IS. Clever is an understatement - I'd say `brilliant' fits the bill better. I'm wondering if bandleader Pit Baumgartner loaded his iPod to mix a roulette sampling of Elvis, Charlie Parker, Charlie Daniels, Curtis Mayfield, Wes Montgomery and Patsy Cline to test his theory that the ingredients would indeed make for a delicious concoction. With super smart musical references, an abundance of humor and searing dance grooves, DAYS OF TWANG is a highly listenable recording stuffed full with 18 killer tracks in a wickedly unique setting.
