Product Description

Six friends on a road trip gone wrong. A sleepy, creepy Texas town. A sinister inn with murder on the menu. And an army of the undead who can only be stopped by decapitation or chainsaw. If you think you've seen it all before, you're DEAD wrong! Eric Palladino (EP, U-571), Ever Carradine (Once and Again), Jeremy Sisto (Wrong Turn, Six Feet under) and Gina Phillips (Jeepers Creepers) star in this action-packed, blood-drenched horror/comedy that takes the genre to outrageous new extremes! Diedrich Bader (The Drew Carey Show), Portia de Rossi (Arrested Development) and David Carradine (Kill Bill) co-star in this acclaimed independent hit that Fangoria Magazine calls "slapstick and horrifying... a mix of ghouls, giggles and gore!"

1.0 out of 5 stars I know they tried...but it still sucked! Oct. 27 2009
I was really looking forward to watch this unknown film "Dead & Breakfast" since it appeared on some magazine ads and had decent hype online and on some blogs...i mean, i love horror films and I LOVE ZOMBIE movies...but unfortunetly this is not one of them.

The movie while fast paced still didnt interest me at all and kinda had me doing chores around the house while it was playing in the background (not a good sign).

I understand these guys wanted to get a cult status for this film but they really can't seriously get it, first of all...the acting and the casting wasnt great at all, the characters were kinda all annoying especially the cop, guitar player, the sheriff, the maid of honor...well you get what im saying..

And the laughs (that they were mainly looking to get) were few...im not gonna lie, there were some funny moments in the movie that i actually enjoyed but besides that, mostly dumb and dull.

And oh yeah...i forgot..what about the zombie aspect of the movie? You gotta be kidding, my next door neighbor's halloween decor on their lawn is scarier than what you'll see in D&B.

So when it was all done, i asked myself "What was the point of this movie?"

I still dont know, but what i do know is that the DVD was in yesterdays garbage collection.

The shortest explanation for this positive review is that writer-director Matthew Leutwyler ("Road Kill") and I are on the save wavelength. "Dead and Breakfast" walks a fine line, in fact, a line that I have trouble articulating in explaining why I loved this movie. "Tongue in cheek" does not quite fit this one and trying to explain it better might be impossible, so I will just devote myself to trying to persuade you to see this film, which I think should end up as a midnight movie in whatever college towns still indulge in such late night festivities. To explain the situation, let me just provide the first two stanzas of "Quiet Little Town," the Zach Selwyn song that recaps the film during the closing credits:

"Well, three young couples were riding along,
They had the directions messed up wrong,
So they stopped in Lovelock to take a snooze.
They were on their way to a friend's wedding,
They had no idea what they were getting into,
When through town they happened to cruise.

"I was working as a gas station attendant,
When a couple of pretty girls and some men did,
Ask me if I knew where they could spend the night.
Well I sent them up the road to the B & B,
It's the only place in town you see,
But they were greeted warmly by death, horror, and fright."

Kate (Bianca Lawson) is on her way to Galveston to be maid of honor at a wedding and her boyfriend David (Erik Palladino) is a boxer who just lost a fight. Driving the Winnebago is Johnny (Oz Perkins), who likes to count road kill so he can pray for them later, Christian (Jeremy Sisto) wears shades and a cynic's smile, Sara (Ever Carradine) is a school teacher who knows how to make a shotgun out of pipes, and Melody (Gina Philips) is along for the ride.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun for Fans of Evil Dead Oct. 2 2008

If you like Evil Dead I & II, along with Army of Darkness then you will enjoy this movie. Yes Shaun of the Dead was funnier, but the camp value in the movie with the songs and cheesiness make you laugh.

If you're getting sick and tired of insipid garbage like "The Cave", "The Island" or "Skeleton Key" trying to pass itself off as horror, see Dead and Breakfast. Gory, campy and geniunely funny.
