Book Description

Jan 25 2010
The history of the walking dead is a long one. Since before man walked the Earth, the dead have been with us. Rotting, decrepit animated corpses have existed, and in many places, have helped create the evolution of the very history we all know as fact, but yet they have always remained hidden from mankind as the sands of time flowed through the hour glass. From Egypt, to London, to the first moon landing, to the old West; zombies have been a part of our culture, our very lives, though each time it has been erased, eradicated from our history. Perhaps in these lost tales of our past is the hope for our future. In these stories might very well be the answers of what to do when the zombie apocalypse finally arrives. So read these tales quickly and learn from them. For even in the past, the dead walk, and if they did once before, it's a fact they will do so again. The only question is: When will that be and will you be prepared? With stories by Tony Schaab, Jose Alfredo Vazquez, David Bernstein, Mark Rivett, T.W. Brown, Nickolas Cook, Mark M. Johnson, Spencer Wendleton, Eric S. Brown, Anthony Giangregorio, Kevin James Breaux, G.R. Mosca and Lee Clark Zumpe,

This is a solid read. I've been really into zombie anthologies lately and really enjoyed this one. Taking real history and adding zombies = lots of fun. I highly recommend.

4.0 out of 5 stars Zombies in Time! Mar 21 2010
By B. Dougherty - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This is a really fun book, with all the stories dealing with zombies in various times and locations from the past (I was hoping there might be a story set in the future in this book or in the other "zombies in time" book I have found, "History is Dead," but no such luck, oh well!). As is the case with Living Dead Press books, most of the authors are largely unknown or just starting to gain notoriety, but they all do a pretty good job of telling their tales, some better than others, as is usually the case in short-story anthology novels. The book is well-edited and put together, with a really cool cover, as you can see at the top of this page. Some of the best stories include:

--"The Eagle has Reanimated" by Tony Schaab: this is the first story in the book, and boy is it an attention-grabber! 30 pages long, it tells the story of zombies mucking up the first moon landing back in 1969 and yes, Schaab manages to find a way to put zombies on the moon, very cool! Readers paying close attention will catch the very witty direct references to both "Star Trek" and Romero's Night/Dawn/Day of the Dead series. A well-written and enjoyable story, it alone is worth the price of the book.
--"Kherfin" by T.W. Brown: A short little story with a lot of big ideas, Brown has put zombies in the Old Testament days, when Moses and the Jews escape the Pharoah in Egypt. Fun, fast-paced, and wholly entertaining.
--"Samurai Zombie Killer" by David Bernstein: the title pretty much says it all on this one. Set in feudal Japan, you get a great mix of martial arts and how the undead would affect the Japanese honor and values system. Very cool stuff.

This is a very unique idea for a zombie book, and fans of the undead shouldn't be disappointed with this anthology.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unique Zombie Action! May 19 2010
By DT Hatchell - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Even if you are not a history fan, this book is a must. The retold stories are full of zombie fun. "The Eagle Has Reanimated" by Tony Schaab is a must read. The only thing I didn't like about the story was that it referred to the moon being 'millions' of miles away from Earth, it's not. I know, I know, such a little thing. Read the book, you won't be disappointed.
