Fabulous, funny, delightful mystery, April 2 2009
By Maria Schneider "Maria E. Schneider" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Dead Woman's Shoes (Paperback)
This mystery has it all-- Kinky the chihuahua, a missing cat, a vet, a policeman, an entire drama club, and of course, an amateur sleuth, Lexy, who must sort it all out even though she is on the run herself! There are twists and turns, capers-many threads woven into a completely captivating tale.
A great escapist read, with a layered plot that keeps you guessing. I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it!

Lexy is a keeper, Mar 7 2009
By Elise Lewis - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Dead Woman's Shoes (Paperback)
This is the first novel in what I hope will be a long series. Lexy has fled to the Suffolk coast with a half million pounds, proceeds from her husband's latest scam. She is mistaken for the previous inhabitant of the cottage she rents, a private investigator. Desperate for funds (she won't touch the loot) she takes on a couple of cases and sets off, accompanied by her Chihuahua Kinky, to solve them all. The characters are delightful and I'm sure the village of Clopwolde will provide Lexy ample opportunity to improve her investigatory skills in the future. And I expect we will eventually be hearing from Gerard, the husband, in search of his loot.

Fun new protagonist!, Aug 4 2009

I admit it, I loved this book and sadly finished it in 2 days. I really enjoyed Lexy and her sidekick, Kinky. She's smart, lands on her feet and is a real survivor. I was kept guessing concerning the villain until the end and was quite worried at one point as to the identity! If it weren't for the final paragraph the book would have received 4 stars. (You'll see - you must read it!) A really cute, fun book, hopefully set up for more (with a potential love interest....??)
