A sight unseen purchase based on prior knowledge of the character, I was amused but not amused enough to bother keeping on with the series on the strength of the main character alone. Crossovers with characters I like I'll pick up, but no more Deadpool on his own

Deadpool is quickly becoming my favorite Marvel series. His witty quips give Spider-man a run for his money and his terminal dementia is comedic gold. In "Deadpool Volume 1" we join Deadpool as he takes on the Skrull invasion fulfilling a secret mission for Nick Furry. Hilarity insures as Deadpool convinces the Skrulls that he wants to join their ranks and allows them to copy his genetic code. Vast armies of Skrull/Deadpool clones abound and really, what's better than one Deadpool? thousands! A thoroughly enjoyable story line that isn't just slapstick and wisecracks. You get some clues to what Herry Osborn's angle is after the war and why he's on Deadpool's hit list. I look forward to reading Deadpool to see where his creative team will take him, but after reading Volume 1 I'm sure it's going to be one helluva joyride!
