DEAN MARTIN's discography is really something to behold. Those two lps on one cd are a typical example. The first DEAN MARTIN HITS AGAIN it seems is a quickie;one gets the feeling that the wine was pouring a little to hard on those sessions.Try to figure out how many songs are molded on the first track.Three songs in a row have the same word on the title and this is not a concept lp.On the other hand,HOUSTON is a good mix of country and pop songs and I WILL, the last top ten hit of DEAN's career was indeed perfect for him.Trying to figure out the many ups and downs of DINO's recordings can actually take a few years out of your life. This guy DEAN MARTIN,perhaps this is the main reason we love him so much is quite an enigma in itself. We all agree nevertheless that he was an accomplished singer.

I was born in 1960, and in 1973, I purchased my first Martin album; notably, The Hit Sound of Dean Martin. This is a gem; recorded in 1966.Jerry Lewis said Martin would not make it after their break-up. Was he wrong or what?Martin landed a successful recording contract with Reprise, starred in several blockbuster movies (especially Matt Helm), had a top variety series on television, then went on to star in those famous "roasts".Sinatra was okay, but Dean was and still is "The King of Cool".My love and never ending devotion to a man that gave romance a whole new meaning. Christmas 2007 will mark the 12th anniversary of his death. He is surely missed and loved.Fran

It doesn't get any better than this for Dean Martin fans. Houston is Dean at his coolest and Hits Again is for romance and candlelight.I bought both these albums as LP's way back in the sixties and they're still my two favorite Dino albums and now on CD the sound is even better ..

ONE LESSER,ONE GOOD March 7 2003

lord...this is good Jan. 17 2006

Well, Dean Martin is one of those singers that, with each new song heard, continues to amaze me. He sits in a list (a very short list) of singers that I would class as the best. The continued love for the music is maintained with this CD.

I personally find some of Dean's Reprise records to be the most well crafted (production wise) of all time, and Dean helps them to soar. He was such a terrific singer, and had the nicest voice. I, find when I discuss him i become very dumbed down, only the simple words like terrific and nice come to mind. I guess he takes my breath away.

Anyway, this CD digs up the original LP's - two of the best as well, and delivers golden tracks like Houston, I Will & You're Nobody Till Somebody Loves You - all very big hits for Dean. It also has (of course) the "mere" album tracks - lesser known songs like Love, Love, Love; Little Lovely One and Everybody But Me. The thing with Dean is that sometimes less is more. These lesser known songs are some of my favorites.

So over all, this CD delivers the Dean Martin goods.

pretty well all of Dean Martin's are favourites Aug. 2 2014

This CD carries several of my favourites, but then, pretty well all of Dean Martin's are favourites. His rendition of Wedding Bells particularly stands out, in that deep, easy listening voice. This is a CD that has seen the inside of my CD player for extended periods and will continue to do so. As well, it was shipped promptly and securely packaged. Recommended.
Good Ol' Dean June 17 2014

I remember "Houston" as far back as when my parents used to play it (at least 40 years!). I snuck the record out when I moved from home! But over the years it has suffered so much wear and tear I decided to get the CD.
