This just what I needed for my big 75% canadian wolfdog!!
The large runs for now a little wide, but he still grows and he is 25% Malamute so he also has the coat in winter, the 3 D-rings are so usefull, i'm using the left/right now with a special leash which i made myself he is very strong so easy to handle now. value/ quality SUPER!Also great for dog-crosscountry skien!

This harness is very well made. I found it was larger than the size recommended for the breed I bought it for. The other thing is for what you get it is very pricey. If you don't mind the price the harness is worth buying.

Superb product - so easy to put on and off - using for a 80 lb long hair German Shepherd - has taken all kinds of road grime, swimming, it washes easily - so far all stitching is holding - nothing is "broken" I've been out for about 3 hrs a day in all kinds of weather (Ottawa, Canada) - 40 celcius with wind chill - the buckles did not like many other products crack from the cold. I've been using it a year now. I recommend and have recommended this harness to many - the handle makes walks heaven -she's free, someone approaching - hold handle - pass - she's free again....

Tricky Sizing but a Good Product Dec 2 2011
By Philip J. Mayo - Published on Amazon.com

While I was able to measure the girth of my dog and buy the harness based on this, the strap which circles his front (not sure what to refer to it as) is a touch too long even at its shortest adjustment. My dog's girth fell on the upper end of the Medium size (32") and yet I am unable to properly tighten that front strap. Even the girth strap appears longer than expected, although I can tighten that strap snugly.

Other than the sizing issue, the harness is well made and comfortable. My dog hardly reacts to wearing it. He can wear it for a long time without exibiting any discomfort. And unlike with some cheaper harnesses, it is easy to put on my dog and maintains its adjusted strap lengths (given the size caveat above). The handle and rings are strong and easily secured.

I like it a lot and would recommend it even with the steep price.

* As an aside to the vendor, the title of a product shouldn't include a long description. That's why there are Details and Features sections. "Dean & Tyler Dog Harness - Medium" should be enough for the product name, or "Dean & Tyler Dog Harness" with the sizes a selectable option. Look to other properly formatted product descriptions to see how it should be done.

Didn't hold up that great June 13 2012

The design seems pretty heavy duty, but while walking my dog (60 lbs) he made the squirrel lunge and pulled out a D-Ring, kind of ticked about that. He isn't a huge dog, and I didn't pull him back excessively hard, but that ring pulled out very easily. Kind of a bummer for how much it was. Fits nice, but could be a little more durable.

Awesome Quality Pet Harness!!! Jan. 26 2010
By Sharons88 - Published on Amazon.com
Just purchased this for my Siberian Husky puppy & he loves it & so do I !!!LOL!!! Very stong material & adjustable to fit as he grows. The handle is cool because when you're walking him & he gets a little antsy, you can grab that & keep him next to you(where I want him).Very fast shipping also!!!

GREAT HARNESS July 14 2012

My English Springer Spaniel hates most dog harnesses but since she doesn't have to "step into" this harness, it's been a BIG plus for her. For me, I'm extremely pleased by the quality construction and material. I also like the fact that this harness can be used as both a service dog harness and a regular walking harness-simply add/remove
the "Service Dog" label. My dog has always walked better in her service dog harness so the fact that this harness can serve as both is a blessing. The only small negative is that if your dog is behind you, and you pull on the harness, it can come off over the head if the harness is not properly adjusted. Since adjusting the harness to a proper fit is easy, I don't consider it any kind of real problem. I think this is a GREAT harness and highly recommend it.

I have never taken the time to write a review before. However I am so impressed with this harness that I feel I must. I would have given it a 5 star rating if the listing had been more accurate and if I had not had to rely on the comments (thank you all!) when choosing size.

need -
looking for a solidly built harness that would not irritate my dog's skin

background -
I purchased a size small for my 52lb pit/shephard mix
She is a puller when she sees people or animals but walks well on harness and leash
She has short sparse fur on her belly and under her front legs that is easily rubbed to skin and other harnesses were causing her serious irritation

upon receipt -
harness was as advertised. A solidly built harness that fit my dog well and did not rub her fur off during use.
I paid particular attention to the comments regarding the plastic side buckle and found them really unfounded. Yes, it is plastic but very high density and HUGE. It is very sturdy. I have seen other collars and harnesses with metal clasps or buckles that I felt were much less sturdy. Metal does not automatically = better/stronger. The fabric, stitching and overall construction are top notch.

I am very thankful for all of the commenters who discussed sizing. Unlike most other harnesses which seem geared for smaller dogs with a nod to larger dogs thrown in this is clearly a harness for larger dogs. My dog is 50lbs and fit comfortably in the small. Typically she is a large or medium (for Premier products). I did not find Tyler and Dean's sizing charts or customer service did a good job in pointing me to the correct size. The sizing chart and CS said to "add two fingers". If I had done that for sizing or fitting she should have been swimming in the harness, even the small. She is a very muscular/fit dog with short hair so perhaps it would be different for a dog that has a lot of hair.

final thought -
If you are looking for a harness and can afford it GET THIS ONE! If you are looking for a harness and can't afford this one, save your money and GET THIS ONE!
I have been through almost a dozen harnesses and none are even close to this one.
