Product Description

ONE REASON TO LIVE.

THREE REASONS TO DIE.

Trill Johnson has five years of jail time under his belt, two women trying to get inside his pants, and one mission in his heart of hearts: Get the suckers who sold him out. And get 'em good.

Sunni James will do anything for Trill. Lie, cheat, steal. Even risk losing her successful beauty salon to save him from the mean streets of Richmond.

Precious Pay will do anything for Trill, too. She cribbed his kid while he did his time, so now she wants Trill to pay for the leg she lost in a robbery gone wrong.

But when love is a lie, who do you trust? When the deals turn dirty, who do you betray? And when the guns start blazing, who's going down?

2.0 out of 5 stars I'm sorry but NO, Mar 8 2007
By K. Hinton "avid reader" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Death Before Dishonor (Paperback)
Death Before Dishonor is one of the worst pieces of trash I've ever read. It starts with ex-con Trill Johnson running from the law. His truck is full of drugs and when he gets stopped by a racist cop who is determined to send him to jail, he runs for his life. While involved in a high-speed police chase complete with helicopters, he runs into a neighborhood shedding his gun and his chinchilla coat in the process. Sunni James, owner of a 24-hour beauty salon, happens to live in the neighborhood he runs into. Since she can't stand to see a black man in trouble, she invited him into her house to hide from the cops. There's my first problem. I don't care who it is, if you're being chased by policemen and helicopters there is no way I'm letting you into my house. But okay, I went with it. Sunni and Trill have one night of passion and all of a sudden he's into her. By the way, he lives with his one-legged girlfriend who took care of his son while he was in jail. But forget the woman he's got at home, he sees a new toy and just has to have it. While he and Sunni develop a relationship, his girlfriend--Precious Pay, a gold-digger through and through, but his woman nonetheless--gets left behind and she jealously decides to get her revenge.

I am all for artists who want to be musicians, actors, and entrepreneurs, but you can't just add writer to your name. 50 Cent has proved that much with G Unit books. I've read another of the titles, Baby Brother, which is slightly better than Death Before Dishonor, but not by much. These stories are big on sex, drugs, and violence, and short on plot, character development, and reality. I know they're novellas and therefore can't be as fully developed as a full book, but there was no reason for 50 to waste my time like this. I'll know better than to pick up another G Unit book.

1.0 out of 5 stars No need to give 50 props, Feb 4 2007

I must say I love Nikki Turner. She is definitely the "Queen of Ghetto Writing" but please don't give this book 5 stars because 50 cent through his name up on it.

The book starts out really good. If you are a person who loves to read long novels...this is not the book for you 194 pages... (UH NO)

The ending was very rush rush....making you want more but not giving enough information to assume there will be a continuation.

I wouldn't suggest this book to anyone...sorry 50 try again.

I really enjoyed this book. I read it in about 3 hours. It has got to be a part 2 to this because you all left us hanging in the end. But I must say this was truly a real good book.
