If only the French could play like this! Celibidache steps out of his awe inspiring Brucknerian habitat to conduct these wonderful ephemeral works. And the results are truly spellbinding.

As always, Celibidache weaves a splendid and translucent tapestry of sound with these works. You will have to re-think your idea of most of these familiar pieces. A definite must buy.

A Masterpiece of Conducting and Recording May 7 2014

When I heard a recording of Celi's La Mer or the radio, I knew I had to have it. He didn't allow most of his performances to be recorded but fortunately these great Ravel and Debussy pieces were. Not only was the conducting superb but the sound quality of the recordings was first rate. Highly recommended!
