Sins in the big apple,
By
This review is from: Deception [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
"Deception" starts off with a pretty cool concept for a dramatic thriller. Hugh Jackman introduces geek social outcast accountant Ewan McGregor to an underground sex club where strangers text each other so they can meet anonymously in hotel rooms. Once Ewan discovers a dead girl in his hotel room, the movie veers into wild directions. Not a bad film, but not highly memorable. Macgregor's fake NYC accent is pitable, Jackman's character thoroughly unlikeable. Despite this, the movie does offer some tense moments that keep us watching attentively. A good renter.
