5.0 out of 5 stars Some unique pointers. Feb. 14 2012
By Martinette - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I bought this when it was free recently (I usually download any and all self-help books about homemaking) and appreciated the fact that it had quite a bit of good information about hoarding. It's the only decluttering book I recall reading in the past two years that acknowledged the existence of the problem. The author provided observations about how much time and effort it might take to overcome hoarding, and when to seek professional help.

Another tip I'd never seen before in a book, magazine article, or blog was to avoid having too many pieces of furniture and containers for storage -- because they would enable you to keep more than you should. Makes sense!

3.0 out of 5 stars How to organize Feb. 3 2013
By summer Pisar - Published on Amazon.com

I really found that very little of the information in this book was new to me. So I was a bit disappointed. I rated it okay due to others I am sure may find it helpful and it addressed how to help a hoarder in your family. I do have one hoarder in my family as well as helpful tips addressing each reason that one may clutter. Which this gave me enlightment why I am clutter so this was helpful.

2.0 out of 5 stars Too simplistic Jan. 11 2013

I found this book to not be very helpful in decluttering my home. It suggested things that anybody could figure out by themselves and repeated those points over and over, in each chapter. It was almost as if a six grader, trying to fill out a report of a certain required length wrote this. I suppose if you were absolutely clueless as to how to start cleaning your house you might find a couple chapters helpful. I'm glad I only paid a few dollars for it on my kindle.

I have a hobby and it takes up some room. but I am able to use this hobby when I travel in out travel trailer. We have learned that we can live in a 16 foot travel trailer with a slide out for 7 months at a time. So this book was a natural for us . Each year when we come home we get rid of more "stuff" .

5.0 out of 5 stars Decluttering Your Home: The Fast Way to Get Rid of Clutter and Organize June 4 2013
By Pat in Hot Springs - Published on Amazon.com

I used to have an entire room full of books on decluttering. How's that for actually getting rid of clutter? Well, I'm starting over - we spent five years in a 38' fifth wheel and it didn't take long when we quit full timing and bought a home for the clutter to start building up again. I am determined NOT to get back in the old rut, and this was the impetus I needed. Only three rooms to go out of five in the new house (the junk just sneaked up on me) !!
