What they sent to me will NOT trap lint. It is strictly for putting heat back into the house and moist heat at that

It is not as advertised. It is a heat saver, not a lint trap

This item saves you a good deal of money for the price by harvesting lost heat from the dryer vent. The down side is initially you get allot of humidity coming from the very damp clothes. When the first 10 minutes are over the humidity seems to disipate and you get more heat than humidity. Since my wifes office is out near the washer and dryer we simply run the dryer 10 minutes before she starts work and she no longer needs to run a portable heater which is 1500 watts and pretty slow to do the same job. Also your killing two birds by doing the laundry and heating the room so def. a win win. I highly recommend this to any house hold its a great way to save on heat your otherwise pumping outside. The lint screen is fully functional as well it catches just about everything. I might suggest they add a hepa version to catch smaller particles but you can minimize that easily yourself by keeping the vent hose dryer lint screen clean and following the manufacturers recommendations of cleaning the screens after every use.

HASH(0xa202d450) out of 5 stars Good way to heat an area - be careful of humidity Nov. 17 2008

Does exactly what it says it does. Be careful where you use this. Your dryer may kick out a lot of hummidity into your house.

The box says it is not recommended for gas dryers. I suspect that this is to avoid any possibility of gas fumes being redirected into the house.

    Works as expected.
suggest you get metal clamps as the plastic will not hold the hose on.

Liked the concept of this heatsaver, however after a few weeks of use, we had to remove it. Even with having a dryer that is only 2 years old, this device caused the entire basement to get covered in lint dust after every load. Bummer, because the added heat and humidity in the winter was a bonus, but not enough to deal with the dust problem. Perhaps if they have one with a better screen?

HASH(0xa202dc30) out of 5 stars cool/low humidity rooms in winter? open up some warm humid air. April 6 2015

Works great with barely any air leaks. I had needed to replace another one that I'd put in as it leaked air BAD. I saw this brand and have been very happy with it. Needed a few plastic trims, but once it was ready, it set in place and put it into action. with a few flaps, it seems to break all the lint out of the dryer line. In my laundry room during the winter, the humidity in the room is 20%, as well as it's about 50 degrees. Will change the flap and update the status in the summer if I have new things to offer.

Only advice is to put a panty hose over the lint trap. it catches the extra lint partials and is amusing to see it flapping around.
