Product Description

DeKok (with kay-oh-kay) and Vledder, of the Amsterdam Municipal Police, are present at a baptism, because one of the principals has been receiving death threats and the baby is to be kidnapped. When the Inspectors are about to introduce themselves to the family, a woman faints. It is the beginning of a number of almost gothic events. This 17th book in the popular series is another tension-filled report about the search for the truth.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amsterdam=criminal? Lucky for us!, Jun 20 2000
Ce commentaire est de: Dekok and the Begging Death (Paperback)
Since I recently moved to Amsterdam and I always loved to read criminal stories, Baantjer still stands on number one of my booklist. Witty, without useless points or statements that make the story unclear, it's easy and entertaining to read. His stories always give you the feeling "it may have happened like that". Yet the police work is not that realistic of course (but hey, on which series or in which book you see the 50 per cent paper work of the job?) - but that's the only downside of this book. This book definitely is one of the better ones, and again has "a story behind the story"! (If you read Baantjer you know what I mean, if you haven't, please do, you won't be disappointed!)
