DELECTABLE DESSERTS FROM THE KITCHENS OF TWO MOMS WHO KNOW WHAT FAMILIES LOVE. There's a dessert for every family, every season, and every occasion in Delectable Desserts, a charming collection of more than 250 classic, sweet, and sugary dessert recipes, organized by month of the year. Warm up with Apple Bread Pudding in January, welcome spring with Brandied Peach Mousse in April, perfect your pies in August, and get cozy with Ginger Cookies and Carrot-Pumpkin Cake in November. There's a sweet and seasonal delight for every family and every occasion in this charming collection of classic desserts. Authors Wendy Louise and MaryAnn Koopmann, each with more than 30 years experience in the kitchen, reveal their absolute favorite recipes for cookies, cakes, pies, bars, and much more, along with no-fail presentation tips and bits of time-tested kitchen wisdom.

About the Author

Born and raised in Wisconsin, MaryAnn Koopmann has lived with her husband Glenn in the Milwaukee area for many years and is currently anticipating a move to her favorite place in northern Wisconsin. When not in her kitchen cooking up a favorite recipe, she enjoys crafting, beading, and visiting with her grandchildren. A true Wisconsinite, she can be found on Sunday afternoons watching the latest Green Bay Packers football game. A Wisconsin resident, Wendy Louise currently lives near her daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter. When she is not busy pursuing life-long interests in the fine arts, quilting, crafting, and gardening, she turns her interest to cooking and sharing in the family dinner hour. She believes that enjoying good food is one of the finer pleasures in life and that eating well is an important element toward attaining family comfort and well-being.

I was disappointed in this cookbook. There wasn't a picture, color or black and white, or an illustration in the entire book except what was on the front and back cover.

The recipes are set up by month, for example a brownie recipe could be found in the January section on page 22 and another one could be found in the September section on page 196. You had to be constantly referring to the index, which I found annoying. Then there are the recipes themselves. If you are like me and have more than one cookbook in your collection, then you have all the recipes that are in this book. I wouldn't recommend this book for a novice or an experienced baker.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Basic and Rich Desserts, Mar 23 2010

Another Reviewer Called this book boring because there is no pictures. True, it would have been better with pictures. Still, it has one of the best recipes for both beginners and experienced bakers. Truly delectable desserts. If you're looking for substance and don't mind the lack of highly glossed pictures and fluff..you will like this book. Borrow it from your local library if you're not sure.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good recipes but a boring book, Dec 9 2009
By Rosa Natal "Cherry Blossom" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Delectable Desserts: Over 250 Best-Loved Recipes for Every Season Of the Year (Paperback)
This book has really delectable dessert recipes with no doubt but each page presents one different recipe and any single photo! ok, you can say that doesn't say if it is a good or a bad book and you are right about that but after several pages with any clue on how it looks like, I found it boring and with no motivation to make so many recipes without knowing how it looks like in the end!

If you are searching for a recipe in particular, you surely will find it but if you are just searching for an idea you will give up!
