Beautiful edition of one of the great fantasies ever, Sep 9 2008

Oh, how thrilled am I to finally have a copy of this book! I was introduced to Deltora about two years ago and absolutely fell in love with one of the most remarkable fantasy series I have ever read--kids and adults alike. Albeit written to childen, the story is thoroughly enjoyable with loveable (or despicable) characters, great ideas and themes, and a wonderfully established variety of cultures and mythologies, all centered around the continent of Deltora.
Emily Rodda writes simply, but it is this simple style that makes this feel like an old story being told--and she balances it with surprisingly complex plots and puzzles that become guilty pleasures.
Delotora Quest is a must-read for all fantasy lovers out there. I am thrilled to have a snobby single edition, and this is beautiful--hardcover with even a bookmark (I apologize, but I do so love those ribbon book marks). The book looks great, and it's a perfect way to collect this fantastic story.

FANTASTIC!, Oct 19 2010

This series would be a great starting place for the young fantasy reader. It has a great storyline and is well written. The language, action, violence depiction is appropriate for young (3rd or 4th grade) readers and the story is compelling enough for even adults.
I would highly recommend this to children and adults as well as Ms. Rodda's other series, Rowan of Rin. She really relates well to kids and tells a story that girls or boys could relate to.

A nice collection of stories, Mar 8 2011
By Arthur Bradley "Arthur Bradley" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Deltora Quest: The Complete Series (Hardcover)
I ordered this collection for my 9-year old son, and he absolutely loves them. He frequently asks me very strange questions, such as, "Dad, do you know some of the ways that people can get turned into werewolves?" My answer was of course... "Well, uh, they get bit I suppose." He grins. "Nope, that's not all. They can drink from the tracks of a werewolf too." "Oh," I answer, "that's good to know." You get the idea. The books have his imagination racing, and that can only be a good thing. Definitely recommended.
