A reprint of Denizens of Darkness, Dec 16 2004
By J. Williamson - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Denizens of Dread (Hardcover)
This book is almost a reprint of Denizens of Darkness, the v3 RLMM. There are a total of seven (7) new monsters and a couple of extra subtypes for Dread Golems, Skeletons, Zombies and Different Strains of Vampire Spawn. Apart from that the only real difference is the addition of an index of monsters by CR and the REMOVAL of in-text explanations of some common special abilities, qualities and powers like Undead & Construct, these must be looked up in the Monster Manual I v3.5 You cannot use this book without it!
The Promised Revision of Skills & Feats is virtually nonexistent. I scoured through the first 35 pages and found only two changes to skills and the creatures had LESS SKILL POINTS! I found about three changes to feats but there were simply the addition of feats that seemed appropriate to creatures at higher HD. I could have done that myself.
I would not recommend this book unless you already own the Monster Manual I v3.5 and feel a desperate need to have official stats on all monsters. Otherwise if you don't have it buy the v3 Denizens of Darkness when it's going cheap. I will be obtaining MM1 v3.5 as this has instructions on creating monsters that should give me all I need to convert even old 2nd ed. monsters.

Great 3.5 version, if you don't have previous edition, Dec 9 2010
By Scott Rawlings - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Denizens of Dread (Hardcover)
Okay, if Denizens of Darkness was a retread of 2nd Edition work, this is just a 3.5 Edition retread of Denizens of Dread. If you have the latter you really needent bother unless for the sake of completeness.
