4.0 out of 5 stars Knit and seam, Jan 28 2011

The patterns are very lovely and there's something for both boys and girls. The author also educates readers how to choose yarn for babies and toddlers, how to design cloth for babies and toddlers (such as what kind of collar and shape of the top etc.) so the little ones enjoy wearing the handknits.

All patterns are knitted separately then seam together. If you don't mind that, I think it's a great book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Baby knitting anyone, Oct 29 2010
By Marge - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Design It, Knit It: Babies (Spiral-bound)
Design It, Knit It: Babies One way to practice using stitch patterns is to work on small garments, such as baby clothes. Debbie Bliss' new book offers that opportunity. Baby projects are small enough to finish quickly, but large enough to get the idea of how a pattern will work. The Bliss book lacks charts and only relies on knitted patterns and I find that a drawback. But the patterns themselves are enchanting. The sizes offered are generous, since there is rarely a need to knit an item that does not allow a baby to grow. One of the patterns I think I might work up is the Garter-Stitch Cardigan just to have in case I need a shower gift.

2.0 out of 5 stars OK for beginners, Jan 19 2012

Very ordinary book about knitting for babies although there are a few very nice patterns. Most of the advice in this book is obvious, such as knit large to give children room to grow. Its just common sense.
