4.0 out of 5 stars Great model! May 16 2014
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Lot's of information and very expensive. I find it is more related to corporate instructional design which is okay, I am taking what I need and leaving the rest behind.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not a very good textbook Nov. 16 2014
By Ghost of Hayek - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I'm going to keep this brief, but I've read dense philosophical treatises that were more transparent in their meaning than the text here. The authors have a nice and helpful diagram and some concepts are from ed. psych and easily understood but a large amount of the text is spent trying to "intellectualize" and legitimize a fairly simple process or concept and it makes the reading dull (by contrast, the Driscoll text on Ed. Psych is great and comprehensible) and laborious work instead of something mildly interesting. Maybe this is the definitive text for instructional design but it could use a full-time editor's skilled hand.

3.0 out of 5 stars Looseleaf Binder Edition is Great! Oct. 8 2013
By M. H. - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Loose Leaf|Verified Purchase
I ordered this version of the text after first using the digital version on an iPad. This was a huge improvement. Having the ability to remove a section of the book and carry it with me is great. The pages are very thin. That's a problem if you're using a highlighter or a pen for making notes. The printing is small, the line-spacing is narrow, and the lines are long. Those issues make for difficult reading. I found the examples within the chapters to be far too technical -- to the point of losing the thought that was being explained.

Excellent text for beginners and those who may be in need of a reminder. This loose leaf copy made life so much easier, I just took along the chapter that I needed. I wish all text books had this facility.
1.0 out of 5 stars Tedious!!!! Sept. 9 2014

It is really hard to believe that a textbook this difficult to read/follow is one designed for teaching instruction! It's almost comical.

1.0 out of 5 stars confusing and dull Nov. 17 2013
By stefanie dram - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Loose Leaf
I find this book not only designed poorly (tiny font, closely spaced, odd grammar and punctuation, etc) but also they have turned a rather interesting topic into one of the worst and overly confusing reads. I would suggest you search for another book, especially considering the cost. Not worth it in my opinion.
