1.0 out of 5 stars How to ruin a Fantastic motion picture, April 23 2004

COLORIZE IT!!!! I have a problem in taking a wonderful action packed WWI sumbmarine movie with suspense, action, and more stars that you can count and totaly mess it up with someones interpertation of what something looks like in color. I bought the colorized movie by accident some years ago and it looked like a 5 year-old took a crayon and colored inside the frames. I returned it the next day. Keep B/W movies the way they were made. In the movie someone asks "Do prayers really work" and the reply was "I know they do", well I'm praying that the B/W version comes out VERY SOON!!

Warner Bros. Pictures presents "DESTINATION TOKYO" (31 December 1943) (135 min/B&W) (Fully Restored/Dolby Digitally Remastered) -- Cary Grant is a tower of strength as Captain Cassidy, skipper of an American submarine U.S.S. Copperfin bound for Tokyo harbor --- Its mission: to enter the bay undetected and place a landing party ashore to allow a Navy meteorologist to survey Japanese weather conditions - information vital to the upcoming Doolittle air raid on From the sub's embarkation in San Francisco to its climactic retreat from Japan, there's not a single solitary dull moment in the 135 minutes of Destination Tokyo.

A fabulous WWII submarine adventure!

4.0 out of 5 stars Straight to Tokyo, Aug 29 2004

This review is from: Destination Tokyo (DVD)
Standard 1944 sub movie with the correct mixed crew. They meet with the standard trials and tribulation.

The added pluses for this film are getting to go to Tokyo. There they are to sneak into the hills and give directions to the Mitsubishi plant. (Using the Japanese language). Mean while back at the ranch appendix looms its ugly head and they have to improvise interments.

Before you start getting blas' see how well the actors carry it off.

Will they be traced down in the hills?

Will the sub leave without them?

Can the sub get out undetected?

And is it over when the planes fly?
