3.0 out of 5 stars Good Material But Length July 27 2011
By E. Watson - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
The book offers some great thoughts and ideas on how one can become more assertive but it will take longer than 50 minutes to get through all of the material. I used this for a training class I conducted and found that it took a little more than 3 hours to get through the material. Also, the book could stand some editing because some material does not seem germane to central arguments the author is making and much of the information could be presented more concisely.

3.0 out of 5 stars ok ideas March 29 2013
By Sarah J. Ritter - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Without supportiive people in positions of responsibility, assertiveness only goes so far. It is better than aggressiveness, and the book does offer ideas that often work if one is able to keep her/his head in the midst of rising difficulties.

4.0 out of 5 stars Helpful for groups Nov. 12 2010
By Jenny J. - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I purchased this book to use for a communication group i run (I work in an inpt. psych hosp.) I really have been able to use the book many times. The books provides good information, suitable for an adult level group, without being too overwhelming, technical, or wordy.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great for those who need to learn about assertiveness! April 19 2014
By A Book for a confused friend - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This worked well for me. I was lost in what I needed to improve in my life. I realized it was me that needed refining. I guess I always had the wrong definition of assertiveness. This book was a great help to my life. I recommend it to anyone who is considering this book.

I really enjoyed this book. I would definitely pair it with the Attitude workbook. It focuses on how you can control yourself in certain situations.
