5.0 out of 5 stars The book every new basketball coach should read first, Feb 4 2003
By
This review is from: Developing Success Basketball (Paperback)
I highly recommend this book. It better prepares the new coach for his new profession. It is the first book a new coach should read once he or she has received their first assignment. It discusses a large variety of topics that are important in the success of a coach and his enjoyment of his profession. Many of the things covered in this book are not discussed in the innumerable skills and drills or offense and defense books that are available on the market. For example, there are chapters on player development including developing the confidence of players, communication, coaching at the junior high level, teaching new concepts, dealing with parents, as well as a section on basic fundamentals and how to teach them more effectively. It's a can't miss book for the new coach or even the veteran coach. Loved it!
