Depeche Mode Devotional is the best concert video ever made! The music is deep and the visuals are incredible. You don't merely watch DM Devotional, rather you experience it through sight and sound. I saw this show live in Vancouver in 1993 and bought the VHS tape the day it came out and was a little disapponted to see that it only contained half the show. After 11 long years the whole concert is finally available! This is a must for all DM Devotees and I encourage even non fans to check this out. Anybody who sees this will surely appreciate the entire production. The Exciter Tour DVD is great, but this one is simply excellent.

This performance was shot during the height of Depeche Mode's creativity.

Visually this concert is fantastic. It was shot by Anton Corbijn, the bands long time photographer and video director. The colours are super saturated and it has that distinct grain you'll find in most of Anton's works.

The audio is also very good. It features both 5.1 surround and 2.0 stereo mixes. There is also second disc which has tons of goodies on it.

Even if you're not a huge Depeche Mode fan, I highly recommend this DVD.

the highlights of this collection for me, are "behind the wheel"; "stripped" & "everything counts" for atmosphere, energy & general entertainment value.
i have been a fan of DP from the old school back in the '80s.
love their work & their staying power/solidity.
however, one thing, Dave G's now publically recognised problems with the powder are all too disturbingly evident on this film,
he looked totally wrecked. once a fresh faced, clean shaven, well-groomed young man, looked like a hobo.
don't get me wrong, i love the guy, but did not like to see him looking so messed up. maybe that is the cost of their success?
for all this, DP are a great band, with intelligent, original music.
watching this video, i saw a comparison with Jim Morrison & the Doors, anyone else? or is that just me?
Dave & the guys are brill, & i wish them every continued success.
