Product Description

Album Description

2010 album from the Northern California Alt-Rockers. Produced and mixed by Nick Raskulinecz (Alice in Chains, Coheed & Cambria, Foo Fighters), and recorded and engineered by Paul "Fig" Figueroa (Alice in Chains, Bad Religion), Diamond Eyes is a powerful combination of muscular impact and expansive atmospherics clarity that charts the latest development in the band's ever growing sonic range. Diamond Eyes also represents former Quicksand bassist Sergio Vega's recording debut with Deftones. Vega is standing in for Chi Cheng, who was seriously injured in a car accident in November 2008.

The Nihilest (Fortress of Solitude) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Diamond Eyes (Audio CD)
I've only given it one listen so far, but it was immediately clear that this is their best album since White Pony. The songs aren't as distinct from each other as on White Pony(at least not on first listen) but they're not all the same either. They definitely stuck in my head. A very strong return for the Deftones. Still curious about Eros though.

Great Album!
Chino comes back with a huge burst of energy, and the combination of the drums and stef's new 8 string guitar just sounds amazing.

5.0 out of 5 stars The pinnacle thus far, Jun 9 2010
This review is from: Diamond Eyes (Audio CD)
This is a must for anyone who liked Saturday Night Wrist. This is Deftones at the peak of their game. Diamond Eyes delivers such a plethora of raw emotion and mood, with enough polished details that it gets better with time. In my opinion Deftones is one of the few bands left that can actually come up with strikingly original and powerful material. Anyone who has an appreciation for Chino Moreno's vocals need not be reminded what a resonance and depth of effect his vocal cords can produce. Once again, they have surpassed themselves.
