In the tradition of The Complete Far Side and The Complete Calvin and Hobbes, Dilbert 2.0 celebrates the 20th anniversary of Scott Adams's Dilbert, the touchstone of office humor.
This special slipcased collection-weighing in at more than ten pounds with 600 pages and featuring almost 4,000 strips-takes readers behind the scenes and into the early days of Scott Adams's life pre-Dilbert and on to the success that followed when Dilbert became an internationally syndicated sensation.
Divided into five different epochs, Dilbert 2.0 gives readers a glance at some of Adams's earliest strips, like those created for Playboy, and a peek at an abundance of special content ranging from numerous rejection letters to Adams's first cartooning check, and more.
Adams personally selected the material for this collection and offers original comments and humorous asides throughout. Also included is a piracy-protected disc that contains every Dilbert comic strip to April 2008.

A must for the devoted fan,

This review is from: Dilbert 2.0: 20 Years of Dilbert (Hardcover)
This book is an excelent collection of Dilbert comics. It showcases many of the funniest over the years with alot of personal commentary from Adams himself. What this isn't (despite the title) is a comprehensive collection of every strip ever written on paper at least. So if you were hoping for this collection to replace all the paperback Dilbert books you own, think again. Don't let that discourage you from buying it though, it is a very good collection and reminds me very much of the "Calvin and Hobbes" and "The Far Side" hardcover collections I own. Also it contains a CD which does contain a complete collection of strips.4Stars: The Good: Hard cover Dilbert with lots of commentary and insight. The Bad: Not a complete collection on paper, heavy ;-)

While I won't pay full price the half off that Amazon provided was well inside my budget. This is not a light book nor short and will not do if you putting it in the bathroom...at least not without a podium. It's best feature in many ways is the CD which means that you can take the content with you (on your laptop etc) to enjoy. The book showcases the drawing changes, the different types of jokes Scott tried before getting the formula right. Note this book does not fit on a regular bookshelf and ready is very heavy.

Exactly what I wanted,

Who could not want all seven million Dilbert comics, lovingly redrawn by Ratbert on the enclosed disc?I highly recommend this expensive item. It works well as a thing to hold up one side of your bed, and if you have burglars, it will be useful to throw at them and incapacitate them at knee-level. Above all else, it excels as a history of Dilbert over the last twenty years. If you're interested in some of Scott's favourite strips, a well as the ones that didn't make it into the newspapers, those are here too. Buy this and bench-press it today!
