Product Description

The late Ronnie James Dio was one of the greatest rock singers of all time, most notably with Rainbow, Black Sabbath and his own band Dio. It was at London's Astoria Theatre on October 22nd 2005 that Dio took to the stage to deliver one of the most memorable performances of their career. Not only does Holy Diver Live feature the classic Holy Diver album in its entirety, recorded live for the very first time, it also features among others Heaven & Hell and Sign Of The Southern Cross from his Black Sabbath days, Tarot Woman, Man On The Silver Mountain and Long Live Rock `N' Roll from Rainbow days and We Rock from his solo career. Always a great live performer, Ronnie James Dio could rarely have been better than on this autumn night in London. 4.0 out of 5 stars Proving yet again how great he was! May 19 2010
On may 16th, this is the album I was listening when I read on the internet about Ronnie James Dio's untimely death. No words can sum up the range of emotions I whent through from reading Wendy's message about the passing of her husband. Right there I decided to really listen to Holy Diver-Live only to be amazed of how awesome Ronnie still sounded. 20+ years later & no studio tricks, just a microphone plugued in speakers & his powerful & unique voice, Dio sounds like he recorded Holy Diver a few weeks before that concert & not back in the early eighties. On top of having Holy Diver, an album that defines what a true Metal album should sound like, live from start to finish, they're also some gems like Tarot Woman & Gates Of Babylon from his Rainbow days as well as the classic Heaven & Hell from his time with Blak Sabbath. The CD & DVD of this concert is testament of Dio's immortality in the hearts of all Metal fans. He is already missed by so many, but will never be forgotten as such great release like this will make sure that his legacy will live on forever. R.I.P. DIO!

4.0 out of 5 stars RJD Still has it Sept. 18 2006
this dvd was a great find for me, not knowing it existed i picked it up this summer. What a preformance for somone who is 65+. surley amazing. sure it takes about 3 tracks for him to warm up but not many people his age can get up there every night like he dose, espically at his age. Plus this was at the end of a lenghty tour for him. Only let down that there was no Craig Goldy

4.0 out of 5 stars Wow! Oct. 25 2006
I bought this DVD without expecting too much. Dio is already 64 years old, btw...

The man still rocks!! Lots of today's 20 something year olds can learn from Dio.

I did not give 4 stars only because the production is rather average. However, it's the sound that counts.
