We needed to purchase carseats for our twins and after researching, chose the Diono Radian RXT. They are extremely heavy as far as carseats go, but I find the ease of tightening each baby in each time we go somewhere to be wonderful. They have so much cushioning on the straps that go on their chest and up to their shoulders that they seem very comfortable for the babies. I had gone into a children's store and "practiced" trying to do up and undo car seat clips and found that many of them were very hard to do. Some even left my thumb sore from pushing so hard on the button. The Diono clips in and out very nicely and the chest clip is big and easy to do with one hand. The harness adjusts very easily and with winter coming and the varying thicknesses of clothing, this is a very welcome feature.
These seats were pricey and having to buy two made it seem even worse, but we are really enjoying them and think we made a good choice.

The Radian is one of the few options we have in Canada to keep our little ones rear facing for longer. With a 45lbs weight limit ant tall harness slots, the radian might get most of the kids rf till 4 years old.

Pros:
- High weight and height limit Rear facing and forward facing;
- The low sides of the seat makes it really easy to lift a kid in and out;
- Provides lot of leg room for RF toddlers;
- The top tether can be used rear facing to control rebound;
- Well paded;
- 8 years lifespan (8 years after DOM);
- Diono has a great Customer service (french and English);
- When installed Rear facing, you can get an "Angle adjuster" for 13$. It's a Diono accessory that you put under the car seat to make it sits more upright. It suitable to use with infants that can sit unassisted and have good head control. It can't be use with a newborn. A newborn needs a 45 degreee angle. http://www.amazon.ca/Diono-Radian-Angle-Adjuster-1-Pack/dp/B006I1QTYQ/ref=pd_rhf_cr_s_cp_1_VN3G?ie=UTF8&refRID=0S2P394H429SKAZTVKMJ

Cons:
- This seat is HEAVY! It might not be a best bet if you plan on moving it frequently;
- The headwings tend to slip of position and are hard to adjust;
- The new harness pads are too big for small babies *** Call Diono and they might send you the smaller ones for free!***
- The harness can be hard to adjust (Ratchet type adjuster: pull, pull, pull...)
- The booster function is useless. The child must be 50lbs to use it and the belt guide is not adjustable. When the harness is outgrow, the booster is too.
-The radian can be really hard to install in some cars. It takes a few tricks to get a tight install. Remember that you only check for less than 1 inch of movement at the belt path.

I will edit my review when I will wash the cover!

I did tons of research before buying, not to mention asking around. It really came down to this or the Britax but I am so happy we went with the Diono. Sturdy, secure, and up to 140 lbs--She will use it til she's in university! The seat is easy to adjust and comfy for my baby. GREAT product!

With the angle adjuster this seat fits fabulously in my 2005 Honda Civic giving plenty of leg room for the front passenger seat. The seat is quite upright with the angle adjuster though, so my child doesn't look quite as comfortable while sleeping.

This is the second diono we bought for hubby's sedan (on sale on Amazon.com! ). Haven't installed it yet but love the first one i got for my SUV. Huge safety ratings. It does eliminate the front passenger seat but we never have 3 ppl in the car anyway. I did buy the angle adjuster but it made baby's head fall forward and cut off his airway, although that's when he was 6mo old. Maybe will buy it again now that he's 13 MO. I definitely think the angle adjuster should come with the car seat considering the cost! Overall am happy with the car seat...as we have 2 ! Hopefully lasts for 10yrs.

I spent a lot of time reviewing car seats online then went to the store to try them out in my car (Hyundai Santa Fe). I love how this car seat sits low on the seat so I have plenty of room to get my active son in and out of the car. He is 14 months and still rear facing so I have added the angle adjuster to the seat and it is fabulous. It gave 6-8 inches back to the front seat passenger. This is very important as my husband and I are close to 6 feet. My husband has an older Jeep Cherokee and he has chosen one for his car as well. The Jeep has a very small back seat and after trying many infant seats we settled on another RXT. When rear facing, the seat had to be centre mounted so that we could also have a passenger but as a forward facing seat he is now behind the passenger side and has more leg room in this seat than he would have had with either a Britax or a Peg Perego. The low profile seat is also valuable with the small Jeep door. We are expecting a second child soon and will purchase additional Radian's as their narrow seat will allow for multiple seats and maybe even a grownup passenger in the middle when necessary. If possible I always suggest trying it out in your car before you buy to make sure you like it and it fits well. Delivery was faster than expected. An added bonus!
