One of the funniest movies ever!!,

Norm MacDonald is by far the funniest Canadian I've ever seen. I won't focus too much on the plot or whatever in this review, although it does have a decent story line. I've seen this movie several times, and I never get sick of it. It is ridiculous, but hilarious. The jail scene is quite possibly one of the funniest scenes of all time. Notice how he's in there just long enough to have the unfortunate experience he does. I could go on and on about funny scenes and lines in this movie, but just trust me and go see it for yourself. Chevy Chase is classic in this one, as well as Chris Farley. You just can't go wrong.

The movie "Dirty Work" is a movie that seems to always put a smile on my face. It follows the life of Mitch Weaver (Norm Macdonald) from a young age, all the way to adulthood. Throughout, there are tons of humurous pranks, and ancidotes. I see a new thing almost everytime I watch it. This is the perfect movie if you and your friends are in that sit down and laugh mood. I know because I've done that with the same friends 4 or 5 times and they still look forward to doing it again. Also if you liked this movie I would suggest BASEketball, and Dude, where's my car, both seem to be up to the same par as this fabulious movie.

The only 'bad part' is when it's over,

Stylistically this falls somewhere between 'harmless' 80s & early 90s comedies like Police Academy series, Wayne's World, etc, and the current macho frat house flicks such as American Pie.Mitch and Sam (Norm MacDonald & Artie Lange) are childhood friends who had embarrasing and humorous ways of getting back at anyone who screwed with them. Flashing ahead to today, they're about 30-35, and Mitch isn't doing so good. He loses every job he has, his girlfriend kicks him (and his stuff) out. He goes to live with Sam and Sam's dad, who was sort of a like a father to Mitch, but he's still uncomfortable around the 'creepy old man.' "Pops" has a heart attack and the only way to get him a new heart is to pay a likable, gambling-addicted doctor (Chevy Chase) $50, 000 in 2 weeks. They try some normal jobs, the most memorable being a movie theatre where they have a rude but funny boss (Don Rickles). They show a "Men In Black" parody which has everyone running out in horror, gets their boss fired and they get paid from the other employees for doing that. They than decide to start a 'revenge-for-hire' business. Mitch than gets an idea. His new girlfriend, Kathy, has a job at a car dealership (with an a--hole boss). They're doing a live TV commercial and Mitch distracts the guy. He than points out that there's dead hookers in the trunks of the cars. Just before the cameras shut off, Mitch is able to promote the business. Than they start getting more calls, and doing stuff like hiding dead fish all over the house of a group of noisy partiers. BTW, Kathy (Traylor Howard) gets ticked off (understandably) for Mitch causing her to lose her job. She has a love, hate, back to love relationship with him. I wish she had more of a leading part in the movie. Travis Cole (Christopher McDonald) is a businessman and local celebrity who at first seems to be a great guy. But all he cares about is an Opera House and does whatever necessary to expand it. He tries to tear down a sweet old woman's house. She calls Mitch & Sam who put popcorn in the bulldozer. It works, and gets them sent to jail (for an unpleasant stay). Cole than drops the charges, does a (phony) apology and asks them to condemn an apartment building he says he owns. Turns out Kathy's grandmother lives there too. Reluctantly they trash it only to find out that Cole was lying to them. Mitch is consistently taking notes with a mini tape recorder. He accidentally leaves it running in Cole's office. He now hatches the biggest Dirty Work plan ever! Many of the jokes repeat themselves (I.E. the landlord Kirkpatrick with the "Punch in the stomach" threats; Pops being obsessed with whores), but that somehow works in the movie's favor. It's recycled at the right moments. Bob Saget made his directorial debut here. I might be the only one who liked the job he did. I also thought he was perfect for Funniest Home Videos. He did good voices, was funny-as-hell without trying to be, and just had a very amiable personality. More or less, if you liked him there, or on "Full House" you'll like this. It has Chris Farley's last appearence before he died untimely. He's the obnoxious friend of Mitch & Sam's. Shortly put, one of the best comedies of '98.
