The pictures in this are beautiful. Each illustration shows the story OT with shadows of the NT.
This is an excellent find and a rare book for a few reasons:
1. No other book is available that shows Jesus in the OT stories for children.
2. Full color books are not cheap to print. Rarely will you find Christian books in color.
Deborah Obeid and Larry Edison designed this book to help readers of all ages understand the manner in which Jesus is both the theme and the Promise of Genesis.
You will find many major events from Genesis portrayed in picture form, each displaying the biblical event along with the manner in which God took pains to gradually yet clearly teach His people about the promise and coming of the Messiah.
In His actions, God painted a picture so that His people might see Jesus in Genesis. Each chapter consists of one painting on high gloss paper along with full page explanation of the Biblical text.
I'm not sure why someone is going out of their way all over the web to attack this book but I found the same word for word review in several book online stores. Art is in the eye of the beholder. It is not a thick book - books are not priced by number of pages--the story presented is priceless.
Jesus is the promised Messiah spoken of in the Jewish Scriptures.
We fight not against flesh and blood.
I bought this book new here on Amazon for my Heart Of Wisdom curriculum.
Don't make the same mistake I did. It is NOT worth it! If I had seen it in person I would have not bought it.
The book is only 1/4 inch thick, not a good value.
There is a short text for each page and on the opposite page is the most UGLY art I have seen in a book or anywhere else in a long time.
There are better places to spend your money for cool living books than on this book.
But I went ahead and got it. I was NOT sorry. The pictures are great. There is alot of meat in this little book. My 4th grader loved the metaphors and the pictures. My younger ones loved the pictures. It really helped us as we are reading through the O.T. again and really looking for metaphors and how it relates to the N.T. and to Jesus.
