This often overlooked series is the only one that I have found that introduces students (grades 5-7) to the story of Canadian history in a lively, engaging, interesting and assessable way. The writing is around a grade 6 level, the illustrations are detailed, and while I wouldn't use the activities in my classroom, I've actually had students take the books home and complete them on their own time. These books are perfect to be used as age appropriate, supplementary readings for any junior high classroom.
