Who’s Your Birthday Character?

Disneystrology combines astrology, numerology, and the magic of movies to help readers understand their own personalities. Within this beautifully illustrated volume, astrologer Lisa Finander has identified 366 unique Disney character types—everyone from Snow White to WALL•E—and paired these characters to corresponding birth dates.

If you were born on November 9, for example, you’re likely to be exuberant, friendly, and youthful—traits best exemplified by Pinocchio. Readers born on February 22 are often powerful, principled, and determined—the perfect words to describe King Mufasa of The Lion King. Open these pages to reveal your birthday character!

You’ll also discover character profiles, keys to personal success, and much, much more. Illustrated with hundreds of stills from more than 90 years of classic animation, Disneystrology is an entertaining tribute to the most delightful characters in movie history.

5.0 out of 5 stars Disney + Astrology = Disneystrology! Oct 4 2010
By Janet Boyer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
From Pinocchio to Ariel, Lightning McQueen to Boo, Disneystrology combines astrology with beloved animated Disney characters to create 365 unique profiles for every day on the calendar.

If your birthday is June 10, you share a profile with Jessie, the cowgirl from Toy Story 2. Born on New Year's Day? Your character match is Jack-Jack from The Incredibles. Classic figures like Snow White, Dumbo, Pooh, Goofy and Bambi are found in Disneystrology, as well as modern Disney characters like Remy (Ratatouille), Dug (Up), Mama Odie (Princess and the Frog) and Bonnie (Toy Story 3).

Beginning with January 1 and ending with December 31, this thick, full-color book with glossy pages features vibrant art from Disney animated movies for each character profile. Author Lisa Finander provides three keywords for each birthday, in addition to a character profile, magical gifts, keys to success and the relevant movie story.

For example, my birthday is November 6, so I share characteristics with Manny from A Bug's Life:

KEYWORDS: Dramatic, Wise, Exciting

MANNY: You are energetic and enjoy captivating an audience, large or small. You like to create visual impressions that inspire awe and invoke imagination. Only those special few whom you trust are privy to your methods. Proud and confident, you don't let the fickle opinions of critics dampen your spirit or keep you from achieving. The calm rationality of loved ones allows you to reach your potential.

MAGICAL GIFTS: Manny bestows the gifts of aesthetics, dedication, and conviction. Under his guidance, you will truly be able to perform magic.

KEYS TO YOUR SUCCESS: Entrancing others with a class act.

MANNY'S STORY: A BUG'S LIFE (1998)

In Disneystrology, Lisa Finander draws upon the wisdom of astrology, numerology and tarot for each birthdate, mining the depth and breadth of animated Disney movies for the perfect character correspondence and profile.

My family LOVES looking through Disneystrology, so I make sure I keep it out all times for easy access. For those who love animated Disney and Pixar films, this book is a treasure trove of memories, forgotten characters and favorite stories.

Not only would Disneystrology make a perfect gift for birthdays, holidays and celebrations, but it would also provide great reading entertainment (and trivia!) for young and old alike. (An added bonus: character index in the back, grouped according to movie!)

Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Melding of Disney & Astrology: Pleasantly Surprised Oct 18 2010
By Dave - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I was pleasantly surprised by this little gem; covering 366 days of the year, readers can learn what Disney character they match as well as their character traits based on astrology. Author Lisa Finander has a Bachelor of Arts in psychology & symbolism and gives lectures on astrology, tarot reading, and spirituality. Although each day is only given one page, the author's credentials make this a somewhat weightier text than just a juvenile analysis of Disney & Pixar characters. There was obviously some thought that went into the pairings. The other nice surprise is that many vintage (and forgotten) Disney characters are represented here, such as The Boy (from 1941's The Reluctant Dragon), Cleo the goldfish (from Pinocchio), and The Little House (from The Little House, 1952). Of course, there are the classic characters you'd expect along with a handful of dubious choices from the direct-to-dvd sequels, but overall, it is a very satisfying selection. Beautifully and colorfully illustrated, each page has one animation cel along with the following information: 3 character traits in the heading, a 1 paragraph description of your Disney character's personality, a list of the character's magical gifts, the keys to this character's success, as well as what movie (including release date) that this character originated from. Just enough info to whet your whistle about astrology and some perhaps previously unknown Disney animated characters. Suggestion: This book would be a fantastic centerpiece for a dinner party--questioning guests as to their birthday, reading their page from the book, and seeing how accurate the match is. Would make a great conversation starter!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun and enlightening! Nov 5 2010
By CuteEverythingcom - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Disneystrology is a lovely, fun, and colorful book that would make a delightful holiday gift for the Disney fan in your life (even if that Disney fan is you!). Here's how Disney describes the new book, after some (perhaps tongue-in-cheek) brief mention of "drawing on the wisdom of astrology, numerology, and the tarot:"

"Disneystrology is much more than a birthday book -- it's filled with 366 days of fun and enchantment. In addition to looking up your birthday and those of your friends and family, you can use this fun compilation to find out which character will preside over special occasions, such as baby showers, anniversaries, and graduations. You can also use Disneystrology as a book of days to become aware of what gifts each day holds, allowing that information to guide you throughout your daily activities."

Or, I would add, you could also use it to look up Disney characters, both favorite and forgotten, to learn more about them, and yourself.

There are a lot of noble and beneficial character traits out there -- including in the "characters" of Disney films. While, we may not have mastered them all (yet), some we have chosen to develop -- consciously or not. Which traits have you focused on to help you succeed in your life? Which are pertinent to your life's "story?"

After all, just like our own "characters," Disney films don't just "happen," they are developed and worked out, being affected by many people, over the course of many years.

These are definitely character traits worth thinking about. Every day, even. And Disneystrology, besides being a cute and fun reference to major and minor Disney characters, is a great way to think (and develop) your own character daily for the story of your own life.
