Having thoroughly enjoyed Power vs. Force, I was interested in this book especially due to its phenomenal title, 'Dissolving the Ego, Realizing the Self'. I like the fact that it was designed to be a pocket companion and addresses deep topics such as the nature of the ego, mind and consciousness. These fundamental issues that impact the quality of our life experience have to stay present in our consciousness for us to be aware of their role in our daily lives. While many of the passages are short and can be read quickly, they can evoke a considerable amount of reflection.
I really like the way Scott Jeffrey organized the teachings of David Hawkins into just three parts -- The "self" (Ego/Mind), Transcending the self, and Realizing the Self. Notice the "self" changes from lower case to upper case upon realization, a subtle yet significant distinction. I also like the Glossary at the end which outlines what he means by many complex terms such as Consciousness, Ego, Duality, Enlightenment, etc. This is very helpful for those who are getting started on their personal spiritual journey.
A great collection of quotes and passages that can inspire people to turn inward, be more introspective and raise their awareness in life.

Must have for every spiritual "doer", Aug 12 2011

I loved this book. I was not going to purchase it at first glance, then I received an email endorsement from Dr Wayne Dyer. I am so glad I brought this book. Dr Hawkins has achieved a state of enlightment (unlike many other spiritual authors) and has returned to teach the rest of us about the nature of our ego and how we transcend it. I find The Course in Miracles can be preachy and somewhat defeating in it's text on the ego. But Dr Hawkin's material is inspiring and very specific on the ways we diminish the power of our ego. Unlike many spiritual books, he gives you the actual tools to use as a spiritual "doer" not just a spiritual "seeker". There are so many jewels in this little book, it will be a lifetime companion.

This book is a wonderful compilation of thoughts and comments by the renowned Spiritual Leader, Dr. David R. Hawkins. Having written several books and spoken at numerous venues over the years, Dr, Hawkins has imparted much useful information to followers and seekers of enlightenment. The author, Scott Jeffries, has collected and presented, in this book, many of those quotes in a logical and sequential fashion so that the reader can understand and follow a path to enlightenment themselves.
A dedicated follower of Spiritual faith will enjoy re-reading the affirming messages within. The new student will be stimulated in their search for truth and guidance.
