5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful Expression of God's Intent and Human Nature, Sep 5 2010
By Alexander Stack "Requiem for Love" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: The Divine Symphony (Paperback)
Calvin Miller in poetic prose weaves his own spin on the creation of man and man's subsequent fall. Within the sometimes incredibly poignant and lyrical lines he writes there is much theology to be digested. Perhaps the most challenging and indeed enjoyable bits of this read is the way Calvin Miller examines man. Taking the creative role of author to its full extent Miller paints a wide canvas of the human experience, identifying both motivation and cause for sin, as well as the desire for redemption. This is done from the perspective of the man figure, the devil figure, and the God figure. What emerges is not just the wide canvas that it surely is, but a comprehensive picture of the various stimuli or forces at work in our lives. We see in this relatively short work ourselves as we should have been, as we are, and as we can be. This is well worth the read.
