Product Description

Entertainment Weekly

Just try and get the commercial jingles and TV-show themes out of your head after perusing this shiny little paperback that's a mishmash of familiar images (Ricky Schroeder, circa Silver Spoons), whimsical lists (e.g., actors appeared on the The Love Boat,), and snippets of memory-triggered melodies ("It's a neighborly day in this beauty-wood...") The books pages are organized randomly, much like recollections themselves-and it's eye-catching design and imaginative text set it apart from other pop-culture tomes. So while trivia buffs should look elsewhere for boob-tube data, nostalgia fiends will adore this goofy, stream of consciousness voyage through the history of TV land.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Blast From the Past., Feb 16 2003

This review is from: Do You Remember TV?: The Book That Takes You Back (Paperback)
I wasn't born in the 50s or 60s but I remembered about 3/4th's of the shows, commercials, jingles, names and other stuff found in this book. It was a nice little stroll down memory lane and a refreshing blast from the past. That's basically why this book was created: to give readers (and television viewers) a pleasant jaunt down memory lane in television land. You won't find much tv trivia here (though there are a few nuggets scattered throughout the pages), but what you will find are a lot of glossy photos, memorable phrases, and a wave of nostalgia. Great gift for any lover of television or student of popular culture.

5.0 out of 5 stars A lighthearted, fun-to-look at book, Aug 25 1999
This review is from: Do You Remember TV?: The Book That Takes You Back (Paperback)
This is a wonderful little book for anyone who likes TV, or even someone who doesn't. The cute, colorful design includes great pictures and a pop-art feel, and includes random photos and snippets of trivia from "Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood," "Gilligan's Island," "All in the Family," and dozens and dozens more. It even includes pages devoted to classic commercials and news broadcasters, and classic news moments. A great, great book for families to look at together and remember.

You must purchase this book for all of your friends who were born in the 50's and early 60's. Do you remember PSSSSSST? This book did not forget a thing! What about green shag carpet? Thanks for the laughs and the memories!
